Are Celebrities Worried About Their Online Reputations?

If you are a celebrity public relations agent in Hollywood, New York, London or any of the other major entertainment sites around the world, you probably cringe from time to time.

Yes, those times when one of your star clients opens their mouth or does something that is considered to be over the top. Like a bad sunburn in the summer or a bone-chilling cold in the winter, it literally has you in pain, a pain that can also impact your wallet or purse.

While it probably isn’t fair to single out one or two celebrities, well, let’s just do that anyhow.

Are Celebrities Worried About Their Online Reputations?

Lindsay Lohan at Calvin Klein Spring 2007 Fash...

For whatever reason, Lindsay Lohan just can’t seem to stay out of the limelight.

It seems you can’t pick up the paper, go online, or turn on a celebrity gossip show on television without seeing Ms. Lindsay’s name and face sprawled across it. Whether she seeks the coverage or not, she’s pretty much there whenever you turn around. Over the last year, fellow actress Amanda Bynes seemed to want to upstage Lohan, that is by getting into several legal encounters with police and the DMV in California.

If you take a step back in the not too distant past, you will fondly (maybe not) remember all the times Britney Spears popped up on your computer, television or in that entertainment tabloid you were looking at while waiting to checkout at the store. Whether it was a legal matter or simply the way she was dressed, one could not help but question what in the world she was thinking.

From those young ladies, throw in the likes of Kim Kardashian, Mel Gibson, Snooki, Paris Hilton, Charlie Sheen and Chris Brown, and you could start to compile a celebrity all-star team for a softball game at Dodger Stadium. Of course, you wouldn’t need a scorecard to determine who they were because they seem to pop up in the news more times than many folks would like.

Probably the biggest question with these and others who can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight would simply be what were they thinking?

Yes, most if not all of them are financially set for life, that is if they do not blow most of their money on bad investments or certain pleasures that many people like to indulge in.

At the end of the day, these named individuals and others like them are by all means free to do what they want within the parameters of the law.

That being said, there is little doubt their online reputations have taken a hit or two with some of their exploits.

Then again, do you think most if any of them really care?

    Hi,

I’m not sure why these people who have so much seem to act so irresponsible and think they are above the law. Perhaps they just want some attention even if it is negative.

    Nice article. Sally

    Sally,

Thanks for reading. I ask myself the same thing, wondering why they just don’t pay for drivers, etc? While I can understand them wanting to have some personal freedoms like the rest of us, they don’t need to be driving their high-priced cars home from a club at 3 a.m. and doing multiple fender benders, etc.

    Dave
