Welcome to another interview in my series of interviews with various bloggers, as mentioned previously each week I will be interviewing a fellow blogger who has kindly answered my blogging questions, so let’s get on with it…

Q: Please tell my readers a little something about yourself?
A:
First I want to thank you for this opportunity Karen. I am a simple Egyptian guy who has been working in the web-design and development field for several years, maybe you will find it a strange a little if you know that I have a bachelor in accounting! I just didn’t like to work with numbers, I prefer the Biz development, but it’s OK! any ways because this will help me to count the big money I will earn very soon :) , I have moved recently to the United States, where I will be living and blogging.

Hesham Zebida

Q: Hi Hesham, so tell me about your blog, when and why you started it and how you came up with the name for it?
A:
My blog? Let me tell you something about my first website, and how I started blogging. I was having a friend who own a hosting company, somehow she offered me a free hosting with a free domain of my choice, I liked the idea but I was not able to do anything with that domain name at that time because I didn’t had enough experience to deal with it, that was about 7 years before, and this is why I went to study web-design and development, and actually she was the one who was pushing me to learn and was behind me all the time, I just can say that I loved her so much and I couldn’t stop myself from proposing, now she is my best friend and my wife.

I just remembered this story so I thought to share with you, so time passed and now I run more than 5 blogs maybe if you visit my personal blog you will know more about my blogging life, but the most exciting project for the mean time is blog called Famous Bloggers, it’s a kind of corporation blog build on the contribution of its authors, it will have all the good and useful information about Making money Online and related topics and  tips. I hope you will like it.

Q: Do you find blogging takes up a lot of your time?
A:
I can say that I work from 8 up to 12 hours daily on developing and publishing on my blogs, and this is not enough for me sometimes to finish with all task I really want to do, you can say that I am a full time blogger right now, and concentrating on Making Money from blogging and developing biz ideas.

Q: Where would you say most of your traffic comes from for your blog?
A:
The most of my traffic actually are coming from Google Search, I was trying my best to enhance my blogging SEO, and using Google Keyword Tool, and succeeded somehow on my main blogs like My Life thinking blog, so for example, if you Googled with these three words you will find that almost all the result on the Google’s first page is leading to my blog!

Q: Do you use social networks to promote your blog and if so which ones would you recommend to other bloggers?
A:
Definitely I am using Social Networks, but this is not all, I also like to build communities around my blog, so I have several accounts and groups on so many social networks out there, maybe I cannot remember all of them, but I remember one true thing which is “ there no experts on social networks”, as I believe that the nature of social networks is changing from time to time, which make it impossible to someone to call himself an expert on social networking platforms, I mean a real one if you understand what I mean!

Q: If you could give some useful advice to new bloggers, what would it be?
A:
My advice would be “Read”, read as much as you can, and get a blog on wordpress.com where you can learn how to use it for free, and then go directly to a hosting company to start hosting your own blog, because hosting your blog is the best ideal thing specially when you are planning to make money from blogging, so why you building on other’s land?! And it’s going to be stronger if you can get a premium theme for your blog, other free themes are going to waste your time, or maybe pay for designer or a developer to help you to get your blog fast and in the best shape and performance!

Thanks Hesham.

The advice about reading given at the end I second wholeheartedly. First of all, if you’re bookmarking as you read, you won’t ever have a lack of things to blog about – you can just link to stuff and call that a post. But reading more and more means that you will have content that’s unique over time.

Moreover, I think there are definitely high-traffic blogs that don’t have anywhere near the community they should, and I know in large part this is because the bloggers aren’t reading enough and bringing something to their readers’ attention that will make a lasting impression. I’m not saying blogging is the same as writing poetry – it isn’t. But if most blogs look interchangeable with any other, that’s not a mistaken impression, and we have to distinguish between all the blogging metrics we have and actual influence.
