Great interview. Great advice. As Ileane mentioned, you are first blogger to mention have benefited from Reddit, let alone 25000 hits. Its good to know its possible.

I have a new blog, in first few weeks I didn’t do much SEO. But as an SEO consultant I couldn’t leave it alone. For my site noticed a big difference after doing SEO in post. Now I will be going to the original post and fix and add any SEO issues that I missed.

I do see a valid reason for not doing SEO in the first weeks of a new blog. All you really need to do is concentrate on good content and market your blog. But as soon as you know the direction, make sure to start SEO.

Karen you are so lucky to have Matt doing an interview for you. Good job!

Matt, you are without a doubt the first blogger that I ever heard mention getting a big traffic boost from Reddit. I find that amazing!

I love your advice about writing and not worrying about SEO until you know for sure which way your blog is headed. I think that very often bloggers want quick results and they try to mimic what some “A-listers” are doing. Being original is really important.
