Let me just start by saying that if you are reading this blog post then you are most probably a blogger or are interesting in blogging, so welcome to my book review of Blogging The Essential Guide by Antonia Chitty & Erica Douglas.
Blogging is something that a lot of us do these days, being it for personal insights, fun or maybe as part of a business, but sometimes it can be a little hard starting out and joining the many other bloggers that have built up their reputations and blog readers, so having a guide by your side to help you along the way is a must.
Blogging The Essential Guide – Blazing Minds Book Review
So recently I was sent preview copy of a book from Need 2 Know Books which will be released in March, so I’ve had the chance to check out the book before it’s released, so I was happy to check out the book and give you, my readers, a first look and my thoughts on Blogging The Essential Guide.
So as a lot of you will know I’ve blogged for many years now and this September will be the 4th birthday for the Blazing Minds blog and like with anything, there is still always something new to learn, every day I find out something new about blogging, so after reading the book I was still learning some rather useful tricks and tips for my blogging.
The guide is not just about creating your blog and writing your posts it also covers blog etiquette, commenting, blog carnivals and other ways of joining in with the ever-growing blogging community.
Chapters In Blogging The Essential Guide
- Blogging Basics
- Starting a Blog
- Basic Skills and Concepts
- Content for Your Blog
- Community and Blogging
- Style and Structure
- The Law
- From Blogs to eBooks
- Social Media
- Writing a Blog for Profit
As you can see there are some really interesting and informative chapters in the book and even for someone like myself that has blogged for so long, I learned more for my future blogging posts.
One chapter which really caught my eye was Chapter 8: From Blogs to eBooks, this is something that I have thought about for a while and now having a guide to help out with the subject is a real help and may be in the near future you will see the Blazing Minds eBook coming to a computer near you
The next chapter, Chapter 9: Social Media for Bloggers, is another section that was close to my heart, I use social media a lot, you will have seen me Tweeting a lot at @BlazingMinds and also posting up on Facebook, both of which are covered in the book as well as using other sites to help get the word out about your blog and help promote it to the masses.
Overall Thoughts On Blogging The Essential Guide
I do have to say that this has to be one of best books that I have read when it comes to blogging, it’s simple to understand and certainly doesn’t go off topic on any of the chapters, as I mentioned earlier the book is great for new and seasoned bloggers. If you are serious about your blogging then I would recommend this book to you.
Antonia Chitty and Erica Douglas have done a great job with this Essential Guide and it’s certainly worth the £9.99.
Top marks from me 5/5
