I bet the title certainly grabbed your attention didn’t it, but this is what you find on the internet these days, people claiming that they have made millions from sitting at home and blogging their proverbial backsides off!
Well, is it possible, I would like to say yes, but, I have to say NO! I have worked hard with my blog with it’s SEO and keyword related tips n tricks and I can quite honestly say that I’m not a millionaire, far from it, my blog bring in a small amount every month with Google Adsense and affiliates such as TradeDoubler, Amazon, iTunes etc bring in minuscule amounts.
So really if you want to quit your real job to make “millions” from just blogging then you’ll have to work all hours.
Don’t get me wrong I do know a few bloggers that have had some success with a work from home venture, but, I don’t think any of them would say that it has made them a millionare, but hey, I may be wrong…

It’s always great to read articles like this. I didn’t start blogging because of the money. I started blogging because I saw it as a way to help people (a lot of people). I’m still getting the hang of it and don’t expect to quit my day job any time soon but I do expect to continue helping more and more people. A more realistic blog related goal for me is coaching and serving through this venue. If anything, blogs are a lot like social networks in that they help build a community and a following. It is possible to just make money from blogging but people need to explore other avenues if they expect to make a lot of money from blogging.

Hi Kimmy, thanks for taking the time to visit, read and comment on my blog, I started my blog, because I enjoy blogging, or should I say I have an addiction to blogging,
I, for one, would take such glowing-sounding claims with the proverbial grain of salt, and approach such with suspicion; after all, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
Especially where supposed “testimonials” are featured, and the advertisers made every effort to discourage independent verification of claims made.
I sincerely hope that nobody gets their laziness endorsed by making it big via blogging. If you aren’t producing something or generating some kind of business, you don’t deserve the income. Bloggin may be writing, but you don’t hear journalists suddenly becoming wealthy, or authors becoming overnight successes.
There is no get rich quick scheme. You have to work (sorry!)

I’ve got a corner on link selling for breeding eunuch gerbils for profit, but it’s limited to posting in comments of other bloggers.
I’m then investing all the profits in AIG to protect my cash flow.
So far nobody’s buying my story.

I’m richer for your two cents just thrown at me here and now. Counting a billion pennies is hard work!

As long as there are people falling for get rich quick schemes, we will not see the last of these scammers.

In some ways I agree and in some ways I disagree. Take The Pioneer Woman I don’t know how much she makes by blogging but it must be a bit especially since she holds regular DSLR giveaways and other giveaways as well. I think once you’ve acquired a large audience you don’t have to work so hard. That being said, all these gimmicks to gain thousands of subscribers overnight is definitely too good to be true and a waste of money.
