If you want to make it big in your business, experts would say you have to engage in internet marketing strategies. One of the ways to expand your internet business then would be to learn how to blog – and how to blog right.
Blogs – basics
Blogs are different from websites. A website is composed of different web pages. It can be a collection of blogs. A blog is just a part of a website. However, even if it is only a website component, it could give you an edge ahead of your competition. Websites are serious, but blogs are a combination of serious and fun, in one package.
Blogging can come in the form of personal, diary like entries where you have to share your experience. You speak your mind. However, when you do it for business, you have to have better content. You cannot just write about anything that catches your fancy. Most of the time, blogs are done to give out information, to educate.
How do you write good blogs?
Here is a step by step of how to write blogs that count – and fun at the same time.
- Plan what kind of blog you are going to make. What is your main theme? When you are going to blog for a living, you have to at least settle that. Try to see what will work and who will read your blog. This way, you are able to fine tune your tone and the object of interest in your blogging later. Be creative. If you are going to blog about the best place to go to, you may add a picture of something that you can find there, or something related to travel. While you are at it, try to redesign the look of your blog. You can choose dark, serious lines. Or opt for fun and exciting designs.
- Blog your mind. Blog about updates and keep the information coming. Remember: educate your audience, or keep them entertained. Put a little you in it. Be fun in your blog and try to spring a surprise every now and then.
- Attract Traffic. Your article has to be worth reading. So make sure it has good content. That way, you can be sure you’d have an audience.
Before long, blogging will be a second nature to you. Get your computer and try to see what blogging can do for you and your business.

Great ABC of blogging!
When I started blogging it was exactly how you’ve said: 1. plan – knowing the purpose I started writing for; 2. put a little me in there – that makes it different and catchy; 3. bring traffic by all means. – Tested and 100% working recipe.
We are a little behind on the times but doing our best to catch up. We just recently started a blog for our business a few months ago and it has been quite an undertaking. Trying to master facebook, twitter, blogging, rss, keywords, anchor text and the list goes on and on.
Aside from all of the technical stuff though, we have found in our short time with our blog, that it has been a great medium for us to use to connect with consumers on a level that we were not able to before with just a static website.
Consumers are able to interact and ask questions through comments and get to know us a little better before making a decision to hire us. It is hard work sometimes, but starting the blog was one of our best decisions so far this year and we are starting to see the benefits immediately.
