Now I have to admit that I’ve heard so many people banging on about Groupon and saying that they can save themselves some money with some of the deals that were on offer, so the other day I decided to check out the site for myself and took a look for some deals in London.

Why London I Hear You Ask!

Well to put it simply, our capital here in the UK is probably one of the most expensive places to visit etc and if I could find some great deals for there, then I could then move on to checking out some local places.

Anyway I set my location to London and it came up with a deal for a “Three Hour Make-Up Course”, hmmm, not exactly what I was expecting but still a good saving none the less!

It’s all in a bit of fun and not to be taken seriously or is it?

One True Fan can only be described as a blogging/website game, you the player gain points just by visiting your favourite sites and showing other what you are a One True Fan of.

But even though it is all for fun, One True Fan can be used for its potential backlinks, just imagine people becoming a fan of your blog via the site, at that point a link to your site is placed on their profile page along with pages they have shared from your site and all these links are DoFollow, hmmm tasty.

OneTrueFan

I’ve been “playing” One True Fan for a little while now after seeing a tweet from @Ileane and noticing that it came from the site, so I just had to check it out, you connect via Twitter Oauth and then add a browser plugin to register the sites you are surfing, I’m using Chrome and luckily they have an extension for you.

When surfing you have a box at the bottom of the screen that allow you to check in (I do this automatically it’s quicker), you can also share the page you are visiting via Twitter, Facebook and Delicious, you gain points for doing this. You can also gain “patches” such as ones for sharing posts, adding facebook etc.

OneTrueFan-PlayerLog

Now to the nitty-gritty, One True Fan is really just for fun, yes it can be used to help out with some backlinks to your blog and posts, but it is just a simple, but entertaining.

The only downside is, as they and others can see what websites you are visiting, this could in turn, lead to this information being used for marketing purposes, but I suppose most sites have that potential. But as I said earlier, it’s all just a bit of fun.

UPDATE: Sadly since this post was originally written Formulists has closed, if anyone knows of an alternative then please let me know!

As most Twitter users know, for sometime now we have had the option to create lists on Twitter, be it for our favourite bands, celebrities or even for those Tweeters that we really enjoy reading their Tweets.

While surfing through the internet the other day I came across a Twitter Tool called FormULists, this handy Twitter website allows you to create dynamic self-updating Twitter lists that once set you can forget about.

FormULists

Why would you want to do this?

Well for starters there are several options that you have with FormULists and these can be used to help your find new Twitter followers, by using options such as “People like me” you can get a list of tweeters that are similar to yourself or in your niche, you then have a changing Twitter list that will help you find like minded Tweeters to follow.

Also using some other settings you can find “People who haven’t tweeted back”, “People who have retweeted” and many more.

All the various choices can possibly help you find useful Tweeters to follow and hopefully follow you back.

Is is just about the following?

Not really, I’ve been using FormULists to create handy Twitter lists of my own, for example, I have Twitter list called “Thanks for listing me” this list includes up to 500 Tweeters that have added me to one of their Twitter Lists, also I a “People Like Me” list that allows me to see like-minded Tweeters that I can decide to follow or not.

Is it free?

Now isn’t that always the question, the answer is yes this handy Twitter Tool is free to use. The website has a limited amount of “user” spots per day for Tweeters to join, so if you can’t join today, then try again tomorrow, this is only temporary as while as they put it “We are limiting access to Formulists as we ramp it up

So if you’re looking for something to help you out with making your Twitter lists then give this a go ;)

Recently I’ve posted several methods of [intlink id="adding-extra-bit-marketing-twitter" type="post"]marketing yourself[/intlink] and/or your band with the aid of Twitter, now I’m bringing you another method which involves a very handy Twitter Tool called Tweetons.

Tweetons Get People To Tweet About Your BusinessOnce you log in to Tweetons via Twitter OAuth you will be able to set up your campaigns which once done are all automated, you can then just sit back and wait for the word to be spread about your business.

There are two type of campaigns available sweepstakes and instant.

Sweepstakes

These are ideal if you are running a competition via Twitter and would like to spread the word out, with this option when your chosen tweet is found by Tweetons the Tweeters goes into the running for the prize, you have several options to configure such as end date of the sweepstakes as well as some optional settings such as only a follower can win the competition.

This is an ideal way of getting the word out, you could use a HashTag in the tweet to promote you business via the competition.

Instant Reward

This is a handy option for getting the word out about your business to loads more tweeters, such as when someone ReTweets one of your tweets, you can thank them with a reply on Twitter, add your HashTag or web address and this will help promote you out to more possible followers and visitors to your website.

Again there are settings as with the Sweepstakes, my recommendation would be not to tweet everyone that ReTweets you, edit the optional settings so that you only RT those with over a set amount of followers of your choice, maybe 3,000 upwards, that way you’re not going to be spamming everyone on Twitter ;)

Reaching Out

I’ve experimented with Tweetons and from the small stats that I have tested it on it have been quite interesting as you can see from them below

Tweetons Stats

So handy at reaching out to other Tweeters and the possibility of spreading the word, ok they aren’t all going to falling over themselves to follower or visit, but every little helps in promoting your business out to the masses of Twitter users.

If you are thinking of running a Twitter competition to promote your business or just want to promote yourself via some friendly thanks to fellow Tweeters, then consider this handy Twitter Tool ;)

Many years ago I did dabble in the fantasy world of online gaming, but since those days I haven’t been to far of places with sword in hand and battled against many wondrous characters.

But recently I was told about Algadon, which is a free online, which is a real benefit as it’s not going to cost you anything, web browser-based, fantasy game based in the medieval and mystical land of Algadon.

So what better opportunity to stop by and check it out and bring my readers a review of the site, so with that it mind, here we go.

This is sponsored post written by myself on behalf of WebHostingRating.com and all opinions are 100% mine.

If you are new to having your own website it can be a little daunting on finding the right host for your needs and most importantly your pocket, word of mouth can be extremely useful and I have mentioned my hosts several times in the past, but sometimes that’s just not good enough, specially if you don’t know the person or they are giving you an affiliate link.
