Those of you who do visit my blog on a regular basis will of noticed that the Donate button on the right of the screen has now gone and been replaced with a pledgie button.

There are several reasons I did this, the first is it seems to fit in a bit better with the design of the blog and secondly, this button now gives a anyone wanting to donate, or pledge, to my blog a little extra. Everytime someone uses the button and donates they have the choice of adding their name to a list of those that have helped.

Click here to lend your support to: BlazingMinds.co.uk and make a donation at www.pledgie.com !

I did have a few donation through the old button, so I’m going to give this one a try over a while and see if it makes any difference.

Many thanks to everyone who has donated to Blazing Minds over the years, thanks to you, I have been able to keep my blog alive ;)

I hope it works for you and I’ll be interested to know the results compared to the old donate button.

Personally I don’t intend on adding donate/pledge button to my site anytime soon – because I don’t see why people would want to pay (or donate) for what I have to say :) Maybe if one of my posts helps somebody really well, but I think it’s a long shot and it will just take space away from something that would be more valuable to me.

    But I don’t know for sure…

When someone pledges don’t they become a member of some sort as opposed to someone who simply donates? I remember there is some sort of actual difference.

I like it better than the old button as it stands out more. The ‘Donate’ button even when posted up high can still blend in as it looks like all the other Donate buttons seen around.

  8. I know Steve Pavlina reckons he gets a fair amount of donations for his blog, would you say it’s been worth the effort for you?

This button looks better but if people want to donate they will do it anyway. I hope this change will work for you and will bring millions of dollars so you can share some with us :D
