Not only that, but some spam might not get put in the spam box! Recently some guy has been spamming my blog like no other, he left like 20-30 random comments with weird links and such. Don’t always trust that it’ll catch everything.

Some spam are good to be left, for they have some keywords that will bring in some traffic from Google search.

I recently started noticing that several of my regulars are ending up in my spam box. It took a few times of approving their comments and they were back to going to the regular comment list. Akismet does a great job of spam blocking but I think sometimes it’s a little over the top, but it’s better to the have the spam protection than end up with comments that don’t even contain real words in any language.

I’m just the opposite, checking the approved first to make sure there are none I want to spam.

I normally first go to spam comments and go through them all and approve the ones that are ok. Then select the rest and delete them. Only then would I go to the comments and start replying to them.

I would say that the number of spam comments I approve is around 4-8%, not much in the end.

I have complained about bloggers that don't check their spam folders before, one of them thinks he's a super big shot but doesn't take the time to check the relevant comments in his Spam section. I check it weekly. .-= Extreme John´s last blog ..New Young Goody Track Doin Me =-.
