Now this is a little rant from me about our local council “Conwy County Council” it seems that in their wisdom they wish to close our community garden in Towyn and guess what they want in its place, a car park and allotments!
As you can see from the picture on the gates from the gardens.
I know we have a big area up by the Tir Prince raceway which is a very large park area, but, for those that are elderly and need a place to relax and sit down with their dogs to play safely and yes the majority of the people there do pick up their digs mess, this is the ideal place to visit, it’s off the main road, it has large iron gates to keep the dogs safe from the side road and it peaceful, unlike the park by Tir Prince that has screaming kids and is close to the main coast road.
It seems such a shame that the local council should want to put a car park here in place of the gardens, I mean what has come over them, the only thing I can think of is “money” they will probably charge people for a pay and display car park at extortionate prices for the holiday makers to park in, while us poor locals lose out on yet another area.
Now if I had the email address of Liz Woods I would email here to ask why this has been done and also give her the link to this post to see if would comment here to let us know why they are taking away the community gardens.
So what’s you point of view do you think that a place for relaxation in this busy world should be removed for a carpark?

What shame. I hate to see when things like that happen. But a car park? Why?
Where I live we have a lot of parks and they are very kept in most cases. I know of only they are took and replacing with something else was in the bad part of town and no but drug dealers and criminals hung out there. No one is complaining that park removed.

This reminds of the song lyrics -”they paved paradise and put up a parking lot”. What a shame, really. I live rurally and the locals here fight tooth and nail to preserve as much of the natural feel of our area. In urban areas it’s important to preserve nature so kids grow up knowing it truly exists. The world isn’t all concrete and asphalt.

NO! I said no! People need a place like this, park, garden, city forest or other social facilities. If they want to build car park, find another place.
Yes, Karen its happened around the world, so many social facilities turn to a business places, housing or offices in my country too, but we can do anything about it, what a shame.

That’s horrible that they are closing down a community garden to put up a car park. They should really be thinking about the environment and their community before they go ahead with this project. Nature should be preserved as much as possible and it’s horrible to think that this is happening all over the world now.
