Doctor Who Ends Until The Autumn!

The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond

Image via Wikipedia

Now I posted about this briefly on my blog for my musings via my BlackBerry last night after watching the episode 7 of Doctor Who, “A Good Man Goes To War”, but I thought that sesing there are alot of my good fellow bloggers that enjoy Blazing Minds and a few of you that enjoy Sci-Fi, I thought I should expand slightly about last nights episode of Doctor Who and it’s haunting image at the end of the show!

Ok, Where To Start

Last night was one of those Doctor Who episodes that had me on the edge of my seat, with the battle of Demons Run where the Doctor called in the troops to repay their debts to him in an effort to save Amy Pond and her baby Melody Pond.

So all the troops came in and the asteroid was taken over, not with a battle, but more of a skirmish, but still, it was nice to see the Doctor with a little human side to him as he got angry.

Not so many scares in this episode, the headless monks kind of reminded me of the guy with the shrunken head in the waiting room in Beetlejuice

Who IS River Song!?

SPOILER ALERT!!

That was a the question that has flown around for ages now and though there had been a lot of speculation that she was Doctor Who’s wife or even his mother! It all boiled down to this episode bringing us the answer and at the start of the episode the answer was shown to us, though you had to work it out for yourself, until River actually told Amy at the end.

Melody = Song, Pond = River

Yes folks, River Song is Melody Pond, something that some of us actually expected, but this, to me, throws up even more questions about the relationship between River and the Doctor, how Amy and Rory are going to treat River now that they knows the truth and the biggest question of all …..

Doctor Who Skeleton Sonic Screwdriver

Doctor Who Skeleton Sonic Screwdriver

Who’s skeleton hand and sonic screwdriver is that? Is it the Doctor’s, Or River’s hand or even another Doctor as River did mention two Doctor’s while talking to Rory early in the episode!

The Long Wait!

So now it’s all a waiting game, after episode 7 of this the 32 series of Doctor Who, we were left with the image above and told that the show wouldn’t be back until the Autumn, September may not be that far away, but, when you are waiting with so much enthusiasm for a show to return, time drags along, if only I had my own T.A.R.D.I.S. I could get there that little quicker ;)

I love Doctor Who. :) This series has been really enjoyable, although I already guessed who River Song would be.

I think the mid-season break is a good idea – it means we don’t want the whole season in 13 weeks and then have nothing for the rest of the year. Torchwood is back in July for a 10-part series, so if you watch it, that should make the wait a bit more bearable.

There are still loads of unanswered questions, but I think the cliffhanger we got was more bearable than if the mid-season break had occurred after episode 6.

I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve never heard of Dr Who. I think we get BBC but I can’t ever remember watching it. I listen to BBC news and go the the news website sometimes but I don’t think that’s the same company.

I’ve been watching Doctor Who since last few years and been loving it. Overall, the episode 7 was an interesting experiment, very engaging one for the most part. The magic of the show will continue this Autumn, can’t wait…

Well to me it doesn’t look like an adult hand, looks sort of like a child’s hand to me, so I don’t think it’s the Doctor or River… then there’s the whole regenerating child in the spacesuit, who could be River, but wouldn’t explain why she would then have shot at herself, and then been confused about the child breaking out of the suit… I dunno, I love the mind-f*ck.

In regards to finding out who River is, I’m kinda gutted it’s over in a way, I love the ambiguity brought to the character, but I’m happy nonetheless, especially with the potential relationship the Doctor and River share…

So then who is “the best man” River has ever known, whom she kills… I’m thinking Rory… I hope not, cause I love him to bits!!!

It’s all intriguing to say the least, I did wonder myself about the spacesuit situation myself, I wondered whether the silence had something to do with the loss of memory of breaking out of the spacesuit, hmmm, only the last part of the series will tell us the answers, hopefully ;)

I’m in the U.S. The last show airs this Saturday. Love the chemistry between the three actors, make that four with River. My husband, son and I are hooked.

I love Doctor Who and I’ve loved most of this series although strangely enough, there were two episodes I didn’t like. That is unusual for me as I have never (gasp) disliked a Doctor Who episode before!!!!! I disliked “The Curse of the Black Spot” and didn;t like “The Rebel Flesh” until I watched the second half. I think I just need to watch all 5.5 seasons of the new series again, to be honest.
