How to easily Search & Replace via a handy WordPress Plugin
Posted by Karen in blogging, wordpress, tags: blogging, blogs, Tips n Tricks, wordpress, Wordpress PluginsRecently it came to my attention that a link that was on quite a few posts in my blog was out of date, so I thought to myself, surely there is a better way then editing each and every post to update the old link with the new updated one, and low and behold I found one.
Search & Replace is a simple WordPress plugin that will search through your database and replace whatever you want, it’s simple to install and once installed your are ready to go.
I would mention though, that you will be updating your database, so make sure your back it up before you attempt to run the Search & Replace!
There are several options for you when you have installed the plugin you can search the content of a post, title, comments, comment authors and loads more, so if you have a link, like I did, that needs to be changed site-wide then this is a must.
You can find the plugin in the WordPress plugin Directory or you can use the “Add New” option in your Wordpress admin and search for “Search and replace” to find and install it direct.
