Why I Enjoy Blogging!

Short title for the post there really and also straight to the point, I thought I would take the opportunity to let you know why I enjoy blogging.

So here we go, a few reasons why I enjoy blogging

  1. Meeting new on-line friends via the comments and other blogs.
  2. Learning new things from those that comment.
  3. Getting the opportunity to grab some amazing freebies to review.
  4. Having fun when creating humorous posts ;)
  5. Having a laugh at some of the feeble attempts of spamming my blog

So why do you enjoy blogging and is it something you thought you would enjoy when your first started or is it something that you never expected?

All good answers Karen. I agree that the spammers are really funny sometimes.

I like blogging because it is an easy means to make money. I just plain enjoy writing.

I like blogging because of the sense of community I get when connecting with other people. I am a people person. Sometimes I spend all day without talking to anyone in the outside world. Blogging helps me keep my sanity. Or, maybe not……..

    • http://blazingminds.co.uk Karen

Thanks for commenting, I don’t know about keeping sane, I do wonder that myself sometimes  ;)

I enjoy having a platform where I could express myself and someone other than my children get to hear it.

When I started blogging, maybe a year ago, I had no idea I would write more than a few posts. My friend, @ileane, encouraged me to do so since I claimed to be a writer. She has always been what she is in cyber – helpful and supportive. She thought if I started a blog, it would get me in the flow and habit of writing. I think when she noticed I wasn’t taking advantage of all that it had to offer she decided to SHOW me how. :-)

I think started a blog can be quite daunting at first, but wow, oh wow, it’s fun once you get going ;)

I enjoy blogging because it gives me my own little online real estate. Having a strong online presence is getting more and more important in these days of social media and internet marketing. I’m actually applying for a job where all I would do is blog and use Twitter, things I do now! LOL

Other than that, just having an outlook to express myself. When I start making money (notice I said when, not if), that will be nice too. Until then I’m just crunching out the posts.

I also love all the wonderful people I have been meeting online. That is always a big plus.

    • Kissie

Hey, tell me more about this Twitter job! Sounds perfect for me. ;-)

    • http://blazingminds.co.uk Karen

Ooo! I do like the sound of a job doing nothing but tweet and blog all day ;)

Great list! I love being able to interact with people who have similar interests, but different knowledge than I do. Also, I am a big fan of making fun of spam! Keep up the great blog work.

Hi Trevor, thanks for stopping by ;)

Kathy RT your post so came over to check out your site. I love blogging and when I first heard about it and what it is; decided to give it a go. I love writing and so decided that I would write about things I am passionate about; hence my blog on all things lavender. Also would like to eventually have a blog on organics as that is something else I am passionate about.
The bonus for me is that now I am connecting up with other bloggers and finding the blogging community so helpful, encouraging and just so nice to be around. Like Kathy, I may not see anyone during the day so connecting to the blogging community keeps me in touch with people and feeling part of something that I am enjoying and also learning from.

I blog because seeing minds open is addictive. I remember the first time I blogged on Lincoln, the first time I wrote on Dickinson. I had a fairly sizeable audience of other bloggers, and they started extending that sort of analysis to a bunch of other texts. One even put together a series of posts on a short story by Melville.

That was then, though (early 2006). I can’t say that I’ve seen much happen between then and now that’s terribly positive.

I enjoy blogging because of the following reasons.

    1. Meeting new people.
    2. Building New relationships.
    3. Making Money Online.

I guess for now that’s about it.

It’s funny you know I started blogging to see what it felt like and next thing I know 2 years passed by lmao.

    • http://blazingminds.co.uk Karen

Two years, wow time flies, Blazing Minds is two next month, core blimey! ;)

    Hi Karen,

Blogging’s a great way of making contacts, doing business, spreading a message – and happily stumbling across people like Kissie ( possibly the greatest granny in the world ).
It’s actually sort of hard not to enjoy blogging – and if you take a break from it, as I did recently, you’ll probably miss the fun you were having quite a lot.

    Best wishes from Hamburg

    Will

And , no, I never expected blogging to be so much fun when I started out – I actually thought I’d probably not last a week … but then a few nice surprises / people came along – and then a few more ( etc etc etc)

      Cheers,
      Will

Karen, you’re everyones favorite blogger so thanks for continuing to keep us blog hopping! I enjoy blogging too and I think it shows.

    • http://blazingminds.co.uk Karen

Awww thank you, you’re making me blush ;)

I enjoy blogging (posting to my blog) because it lets me get things off my chest. I’ve always been a little argumentative and my blog lets me go into a realm that would just be rude to comment elsewhere unless that’s what they were looking for.

Blogging like I’m doing here, commenting, lets me keep in touch with friends, make new ones, learn new things and bring my mindset back to reality.

I’ve been out of it for months, but I guess my biggest reason for blogging in general is because I enjoy the since of community. Unlike forums, which I like as well, blogging lets us see each other on sites all over the net. It sounds silly but it’s like running into old friends in a coffee shop or club. It’s just nice to see friends everywhere as well as meeting new ones. I know most of the names above and have visited each other’s blogs. (Most knew me as ExtremeEzine but I sold that site)

    • http://blazingminds.co.uk Karen

I remember you as Extreme Ezine ;) ;)

      • Brian D. Hawkins

Now I have to start all over with the branding lol

  • http://tycoonblogger.com dan keller

I also like the community aspect of blogging. I like meeting like minded people online. I love reading blogs as much as I like writing on my own. I do like when I make some extra money too, not gonna lie :-)

BTW, I am headed over to loginin to blogengage and get you your 10th vote!

    Hey Karen,

Initially, I’m curious how much I can earn online with blogging since it was suggested by a designer friend of mine. But I notice I enjoy tweaking my blog more than adding content to it.. lol I guess I’ll always be a designer by heart. But I love the concept of ‘social media’ and the exposure I get with people I meet online and learn from through their posts.

I kinda enjoy spamming too.. :P

    • http://blogjakes.com Jakes

      Hi Cindy,
We two seems to have something in common.. Am not a pro-designer or something of that sort. But I do enjoy tweaking my blog than putting new contents in it ;)

I think i really love to know new friends via blogging. In addition, i learnt a lot of html code and website creating from blogging too. As i am a scientist, sometimes it is difficult for me to learn such things. Luckily, i have joined the blogging atmosphere.

When I started I had no idea how many wonderful people I would get to know over the course of six months, and I think that has turned out to be the best part about blogging. Writing on my humor blog is easier than my home organization one is and is just something I like to do and truly enjoy. Plus it doesn’t require that I clean out a garage to write about it. :)

  • http://www.tejkohli.us Tej Kohli

These are exactly the reasons why i love to blog too! And i liked that last point though…shooing away the spammers is something a enjoy a lot myself ;)

Socializing with other commenter is the most interesting part on having a blog. In that way, you guys can share different ideas in a very different perspective. It’s also a very effective technique where you can get new ideas for your upcoming blog posts.

I really can’t pinpoint it but it does feel great knowing that you’re helping others through the articles on your blog. Sometimes it can be stressful and sometimes it can be very relaxing ;-).
