Most of you will have already read my post with regards to me possible leaving EntreCard, but the paid ads situation seems to be ranging on at the moment.

I’ve read on several blogs lately that people are really fed up with the current situation about the paids ads that are been displayed on EntreCard users widgets, even when they don’t want them.

So my decision to leave EntreCard is moving more to the yes side, I have removed the widget from one of my other blogs, the Atom Sounds Music News blog for this very reason and so far it’s not damaged my hits/visits, but the fact that even when you ignore the ads, they still appear on your EC widget, it is just so annoying, I’ve ended up clearing a bucket load of ads by hitting the reject button, just to stop ads appearing on my blog.

I’m going to give EntreCard another month to see if anyything changes, if it doesn’t then that will be it, no more EC…

In the meantime for those that do visit my blog through EC, please subscribe to my RSS feed via the original method or the RSS email subscription, just in case I do drop EC and you want to keep up to date with my posts etc…

Never got involved with EC, so many wonderful bloggers I know of have had some really negative things to say…don’t understand it, keep clear of it, my head is in SAND! lol

…but ya gotta respect the ones still swingin’ through the dilemmas. Or d’ Llamas, depending on…oh, nevermind. :)

Hi John, thanks for your wise words, I’m slowing moving away from the idea of staying ;)

Change your advert settings to the following and the ads will no longer bump your approved adverts:

    1. Allow Entrecard users to apply for advertising on your widget
    2. Allow paid ads only if explicitly approved by you

This will solve those pesky ads once and for all.

    Have a terrific day. :)

I’m not thrilled with the direction EC’s going either, and that’s too bad because I use it as a RSS almost. I favorite the blogs and have a good read and get to get credits, before the paid ads, it was a great system!

I bet the people in EC are worried their strategy for paid ads will backfire and result in less blog members… I only have 1 out 4 blogs in EC and since the paid ads went up, traffic went down…
