Welsh Orchestral-Power-Pop-Punk band sign new deal, set sights on USA
It’s certainly great news that Straight Jacket Legends, from Holyhead in Wales, have signed a deal with international independent label Self Made Records, and they are set to record their yet-untitled debut full length album in October this year. SMR will be releasing the album worldwide through Sony RED and cementing tour plans for California & New York in the new year.
Straight Jacket Legends have asked musician, friend and Hollywood actor Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie, Rookie of the Year) to perform on the album. Other guests confirmed for the album include Brendan B. Brown (Teenage Dirtbag writer, and Wheatus frontman) and Nerdcore Hip-Hop artist MC Lars.
The band released their single ‘She’s Out of Line’ (feat. MC Lars) in July 2013 to excellent reviews. Kerrang! Radio deemed it a ‘Pop-Punk Classic’. To celebrate the signing, the band are set to re-release their debut EP ‘Lemon Party’ with added tracks, bonus material, and more in time for Christmas this year. Previously, the EP had performed well on the iTunes charts, peaking at No.5 on the ‘What’s Hot?’ chart.
Album recording will take place at Ferlas Studios and will be produced by Richard Roberts. The band have also recruited ‘Brian Wilson of Pop-Punk’ Alex Watts as co-producer.
