Expendables 2 – Blazing Minds Film Review

Expendables 2 – Blazing Minds Film Review

What can I say, right from the start of the movie I was on the edge of my seat with an all out explosive start, my only thoughts were that I was really hoping that this much action right at the beginning of the film wouldn’t be it and that the rest of the film would bore me, oh how wrong that thought was.

With a great choice of action heroes from the 80′s you are guaranteed stacks of one liners such as Trench (Arnold Schwwarzennegger) saying “I’m Back!” and comic moments with the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwwarzennegger and Bruce Willis taking the mickey out of themselves, ok the script may not be that amazing but the cast really pull it off and make Expendables 2 exciting and fun to watch and with so many big names in one movie you really can’t complain, it is an action movie after all.

It was great to see Chuck Norris in the film, even though he’s not in it long, also having Jean-Claude Van Damme as the bad guy, Vilain, was a nice touch.

The set action pieces are really nicely done and the fight sequences are something that we’ve come to expect from the likes of Jason Statham, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Jet Li, with them showing just how it’s done in a good action movie. I do have to say that there is a lot of blood flying around when people get shot etc, but for some reason it didn’t distract me from the action, it became quite natural as the film progressed, hmm that makes me sound awful doesn’t it!

Expendables 2 is a good honest throw back to those glory days of the action movie that was something you could really enjoy, rather than having an overly complicated script, with so much going on that makes your head explode, like some of them do these days. Expendables 2 is simply an action movie with the simplicity of a basic idea with lots of action, explosions and group of guys blowing crap up! Oh hell yeah

Overall Thoughts For Expendables 2

Brilliant action movie that is so much fun to watch, its comical moments will have you laughing as do its brilliant way of not taking itself too seriously. Go see this if you want to have a fun night out, even if you haven’t seen the first Expendables this is still an enjoyable 103 minutes.
