Can you believe that we are now at Fast & Furious 6 in the franchise, well as you can see from the title of the movie we are and Vin Diesel and all the team are back with their fast, flash, cars for another outing.
Joining the cast again is The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) as the FBI agent who is asking for help from the team to bring down former Special Ops soldier Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) who is the leader of a gang that specializes in vehicular warfare.
Fast & Furious 6 – Loud and Fast!
So as you can expect what we have here with Fast & Furious 6 is another in the franchise of fast cars and a loud thumping soundtrack, it’s a must for fans of the series and for petrol heads everywhere that love the sound of the roar from the engines in extremely loud surround sound.
Unlike some of the previous movies Fast & Furious 6 doesn’t really take itself that seriously and those strange quotes from Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) are riddled through the film.
Director Justin Lin has managed to keep the engine running with the Fast and The Furious franchise with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast & Furious 5 and now the latest outing in the movies, he certainly knows how to keep the audience pulled in to the movie.
It’s great to see the UK used for the first time in the franchise and as the cars race around the streets of London it makes a change to see the Great British plod chasing the cars around the streets, makes a change.
The film is packed with action, car chases and fight sequences, it’s a film that doesn’t really give you chance to catch your breath before you are thrown back in your seat for more nail-biting, death-defying car stunts, with camera shots that kind of reminded me of the game Gran Turismo!
Once thing that has always been a good side of the movies is the relationship with the characters and the latest movie is no different, what runs through the film is the idea of the family and the loyalty that they all have to one another, no matter what.
Fast & Furious 7 – Pre-End Credits!
That’s right everyone, you may have heard the news already, but yes, next year Fast & Furious 7 will be hitting our screens and with the end of the film with a cliffhanger for the next movie, it looks like everything is going to really kick off.
With many of the cast returning such as Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and the addition of Jason Statham it looks like the franchise could never end or could 7 be the last one!
Sadly Justin Lin won’t be returning to direct number 7, but it will be in the hands of director James Wan, who strangely is more know for his horrors, such as Saw, Dead Silence, Insidious and the upcoming Insidious: Chapter 2, so only time will tell which direction he takes Fast & Furious 7.
With it’s US release date of 11th July 2014, it seems that fans want really have to wait that long to see the outcome from the cliffhanger.
Overall Thoughts For Fast & Furious 6
It’s what we’ve come to expect from the franchise and that’s where it doesn’t disappoint, an action movie with a thumping soundtrack, great stunts and a continuation from earlier movies that fans adore.
