Fast & Furious 6 – Dom and the The Team Are Back! [Review]

Fast And Furious 6

Can you believe that we are now at Fast & Furious 6 in the franchise, well as you can see from the title of the movie we are and Vin Diesel and all the team are back with their fast, flash, cars for another outing.

Joining the cast again is The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) as the FBI agent who is asking for help from the team to bring down former Special Ops soldier Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) who is the leader of a gang that specializes in vehicular warfare.

Fast & Furious 6 – Loud and Fast!

So as you can expect what we have here with Fast & Furious 6 is another in the franchise of fast cars and a loud thumping soundtrack, it’s a must for fans of the series and for petrol heads everywhere that love the sound of the roar from the engines in extremely loud surround sound.

Unlike some of the previous movies Fast & Furious 6 doesn’t really take itself that seriously and those strange quotes from Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) are riddled through the film.

fast and furious

Director Justin Lin has managed to keep the engine running with the Fast and The Furious franchise with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast & Furious 5 and now the latest outing in the movies, he certainly knows how to keep the audience pulled in to the movie.

It’s great to see the UK used for the first time in the franchise and as the cars race around the streets of London it makes a change to see the Great British plod chasing the cars around the streets, makes a change.

fast and furious 6 Rita Ora

The film is packed with action, car chases and fight sequences, it’s a film that doesn’t really give you chance to catch your breath before you are thrown back in your seat for more nail-biting, death-defying car stunts, with camera shots that kind of reminded me of the game Gran Turismo!

Once thing that has always been a good side of the movies is the relationship with the characters and the latest movie is no different, what runs through the film is the idea of the family and the loyalty that they all have to one another, no matter what.

Fast & Furious 7 – Pre-End Credits!

That’s right everyone, you may have heard the news already, but yes, next year Fast & Furious 7 will be hitting our screens and with the end of the film with a cliffhanger for the next movie, it looks like everything is going to really kick off.

With many of the cast returning such as Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson and the addition of Jason Statham it looks like the franchise could never end or could 7 be the last one!

Sadly Justin Lin won’t be returning to direct number 7, but it will be in the hands of director James Wan, who strangely is more know for his horrors, such as Saw, Dead SilenceInsidious and the upcoming Insidious: Chapter 2, so only time will tell which direction he takes Fast & Furious 7.

With it’s US release date of 11th July 2014, it seems that fans want really have to wait that long to see the outcome from the cliffhanger.

Overall Thoughts For Fast & Furious 6

It’s what we’ve come to expect from the franchise and that’s where it doesn’t disappoint, an action movie with a thumping soundtrack, great stunts and a continuation from earlier movies that fans adore.

  • Hey Karen,

Well, I’ve started from the first episode until the 5th one and I am not, I repeat, I am not going to miss this 6th installment of Fast and Furious. I really thought that the 5th installment was the last one. It’s a good thing that they’ve decided to make a 6th one. Thanks for this preview karen.

  • Richard

Being a car enthusiast I’ve watched all of these. Some are better than others. The recent ones have been better than 3 & 4 which i found the worse. It will be good to see all the originals back. Looking forward to seeing all the cars and the car chases etc.

  • Hope you enjoy it as much as I did Richard

  • Hi Karen Thanks for the review. It is another movie just after my head. A lot of great action and special effects. I only miss one thing in this review. Where is the trailer for the movie Karen? Well ok I found one on YouTube myself.

  • My bad there Thomas, forgot to add the trailer, must add it to the review ASAP 😉

  • Look out for number 7 next year 😉

Thanks for your review. I have watched five parts before and exactly like I though, “New always better than old” – Barney Stinson

  • Thanks for stopping by and for commenting, I have to say I do love the Fast & Furious movies, nothing better than that sound of the engines racing behind you in 5.1 sound 😉

  • Hi Karen

I just watched Fast & Furious 6 on Blu-Ray yesterday and it was a great action movie for sure. Maybe not the best script ever seen and maybe not as many car scenes as there use to be in the Fast & Furious movies, but still a great action movie 🙂

  • Still an enjoyable movie though Thomas and can you believe that these movies are going up to 9, so far!!!
