How Can You Find Good Blog Content Worth Reading?

There comes a time when we are looking for something interesting to read and trying to find blogs that have something worth sharing with others, but the question is How can you find good blog content worth reading?

I personally use several methods and these are the ones which I have found extremely useful in gathering a good list of blogs that have now been added to my web based RSS reader, so that I can constantly keep up to date with and enjoy reading and majority of the time comment on.Hipster

  1. CommentLuv
Now I have to admit that this is a great way to find new blogs to read, if you have the WordPress plugin on your blog, when people comment, 9 times out of 10 you get a link to their latest blog post and a lot of the time, if the title looks interesting I will follow it to the commentators latest blog post, so it pays to leave comments ;)
  2. Reading Other Blogs Comments
It’s really the same principle as above, but this time it’s not comments on your blog, it’s comments on a blog you may be reading. Plus if you leave a comment you get backlinks to your blog and possibly a commenter will come to your blog from there.
  3. Twitter Blog Posts
The majority of bloggers now tweet their latest posts on Twitter, so if you see something interesting in your Twitter timeline, you can stop by and check the blog post out. A lot of bloggers will post something like “New Blog Post ..”, “New at ….” and one which I use, my twitter name which is also the blog name “New @BlazingMinds ..”.
  4. ReTweets on Twitter
You’ve probably seen on my blog and others the ReTweet buttons, now if you are blessed with kind readers, they will ReTweet your blog post on Twitter, so also using Twitter you will see other blog posts that have been ReTweeted by your friends/followers and if they have ReTweeted a blog post, it may be worthwhile checking it out.
  5. BlogEngage, BloggerDen, MMOSocial Network, Digg etc
I also use these sites to find interesting blogs to read with BlogEngage, BloggerDen, MMOSocial Network and Digg you can also submit your blog posts, bringing you fresh readers as well as some fresh content for you to visit back.
  6. DoFollow Search Engine
Ok it’s a shameless plug! But, the [intlink id="bloggers-search-engine" type="page"]DoFollow Search Engine[/intlink] here at Blazing Minds has a great list of blogs that are not only DoFollow but a lot of them have CommentLuv enabled, so using this to search for a niche or subject is another ideal way of finding content for your to read and comment on. The “Bloggers Search Engine” is updated frequently with new blogs, so it’s always worth checking out ;)

So there you have it, just a few of the methods I use to find new content to read, if you have any ways that you find new Blogs to read then please let us know ;)

I think CommentLuv is the reason for most of the blogs I read on a regular basis. I saw the blogger/webmaster comment on another site, with CommentLuv enabled, and found their “latest post” interesting, so I check it out and end up subscribing.

    I luv’ CommentLuv :)

I love commentluv. I just created a new blog that has it on there. I also just used your blog search engine and found a couple new ones that I enjoy reading. Thanks for that! I also look at comments from other posters. If I like what they say I usually visit their site.

I agree with you – I honestly find the best content on Twitter, BlogEngage, and also via a Google group I belong to called “Worthy of Attention.” It’s quite refreshing to find thought-provoking blog posts that aren’t simply a rehash of what everyone else is saying.

I usually go for Twitter for local updates but also end up browsing blogs from those I follow if it is about topics I like. For blogs specifically, it is search engines like Twingly, Google with blog from the options, Techmeme and Digg. References from blogs I follow regularly are also a major source.

one of the ways I discover other bloggers and blogs is simply to go to blogsearch.google.com and type in a keyword or topic I want to read about. I find many bloggers opinions and information on the topic and this also leads me to leave comments and sometimes writing a blog post myself.
