This amazing cinema experience was first introduced from South Korea in 2015 – and exclusive to Cineworld in the UK – 4DX is considered to be the biggest innovation in cinematic technology. More than 300 movies have had the immersive 4DX treatment so far, and it has been praised by famous film directors, such as Alfonso Cuaron who directed Gravity.

The 4DX auditorium, which is currently under construction, will house 148 specially designed seats, plus a curved screen measuring 14.20m by 6.15m – bigger than a double decker bus.

Cineworld 4DX – Keeping Comfort Key

Iman Fathi, General Manager at Cineworld Wandsworth, told us: “Over 150,000 4DX tickets have been sold since launching last year and cinema-goers have absolutely loved it, so we’re thrilled to be opening the first 4DX in London. There’s nothing like it in the capital and it’s totally exclusive to Cineworld. We cannot wait to see customers’ reactions when they try it out this December!

“We are always looking at the latest innovations in technology, and with our offering now including 4DX as well as Superscreen, we are giving customers more choice to watch a movie how they want. We’re confident Cineworld Wandsworth will be the best place to watch a movie in London, including the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

The Cineworld Superscreen in Wandsworth will allow customers an option to see the latest movies on a breath-taking wall-to-wall, ceiling-high screen. The Superscreen auditorium will seat 364 people, and will also include dual projectors giving a brighter 3D experience and stunning multidimensional sound with Dolby Atmos speakers, powered by 44 amplifiers.
