Set in the late 1940′s and early 1950′s Gangster Squad is the story of a group of cops given the job of closing down a crime boss in any way they can, no matter what.
So the team including, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling, set up to go up against Sean Penn and close his drug and prostitution ring, armed with a collection of kick ass guns and gear to clean up L.A. once and for all, with extreme prejudice.
Gangster Squad Blazing Minds Film Review

As soon as Gangster Squad starts it just throws you straight in with Josh Brolin, working on a case, seeing a predator, following him and then kicking the living daylights out of him and his crime partners to save a woman from something very nasty!
The action is all very well done throughout the film, yes it’s violent, but it all fits in so well with the style of the film, being set in the 40′s and 50′s they have a brilliant chase in some of the cars from the period, all guns blazing and grenade sticks blowing things up.

Gangster Squad is one of those films that has you quite excited when you see the trailer for the film and then when you sit down to watch it, right from the start you know that it’s going to be one of those films that has you gripped right from the very startup to the point of the end credits.
There’s some humor thrown in to give you some laughs, but it’s not just the action that has you gripped with Gangster Squad it does actually keep you going with the story as well, you want to see the team of cops successful and see them take down Sean Penn and you want to see them do it in a blaze of glory.
For me Gangster Squad is one of those films that I could watch again, it’s full of action, nice set pieces and a refreshing change from the films we get these days that are either set in present day or in a far off future.
Overall Thoughts For Gangster Squad
Gangster Squad is a mixture The Untouchables and Dragnet, it’s a good action packed movie that has you wanting more after it’s finished. Go see this if you want to see an all out action movie that is both exciting and enjoyable.

As i was reading this and then the image I was thinking that it sounds a bit like The Untouchables. I used to like the old gangster movies of the 80′s and 90′s. But none seem to be made now a days or if they are, are not very good. Seems like this could worth buying in a few months to add to the collection
