It’s the, excuse the pun, BUZZ word that is racing around the internet at the moment, everywhere you look Google Buzz seems to popping up and a lot of people are going crazy over it, saying that it will fend off the likes of Twitter and become the new kid in town, but will it?

Google Buzz will bring your social networking direct into your Gmail or Google Reader along side with your RSS feeds.

The ability to add all your social networks in one place also have a good clean view of what’s going in the Google Buzz world is nice, but, it’s yet another option for us to waste what little time we have these days.

But saying that it is nice that rather than only having 140 characters to play with on [intlink id="109" type="category"]Twitter[/intlink] you can ave as much as you want and also on the plus side, it is a lot easier to keep up with conversations that you may have started via Google Buzz.

I think that at the end of the day there is going to be a division of users, Twitter, [intlink id="facebook-twitter-orange-texting" type="post"]Facebook[/intlink] and Google Buzz. But hasn’t it always been like that, I remember the glory days when [intlink id="are-we-all-getting-addicted-to-the-social-networks" type="post"]MySpace[/intlink] used to hold the internet users attention, but slowly that started to fall by the curbside and people moved from there to Facebook, so with this happen with Google Buzz, it’s a thought and I suppose we will all just have to wait and see ;)

I’m still not sure what I think about it. I think it’s cool, but at the same point, I’ve already established myself on Twitter and Facebook. Plus, all of the people that I follow on Buzz, I already follow other places. Sometimes I think that this was just a move by Google to not get left behind by Twitter and doesn’t solve any existing need.

Google Buzz is great. I think its a cool program, but I still like Twitter and Facebook better. Will it be a Twitter, Facebook, and FreindFeed Killer? For Twitter and Facebook, never. For FriendFeed maybe. Most of the people that I connect with on Buzz are on Twitter as well. So I rarely open Buzz unless I have the time. Almost never have Gmail open, I pull my emails from Outlook or Thunderbird. If they make a way to pull Buzz info into a desktop application or integrate into an applicaiton I already use I may use it more.

Do see a lot more sites adding the Google Buzz Submit button (I added it) such as Mashable and they are getting a lot of submits as well. So maybe a lot more people are using it. Just need to find more people to connect with on there.

As Karen says, we need to wait see how it takes off.

I saw the Buzz icon and quite frankly, I got mad. Seriously… do I need another “service” for this? The “problem” has been solved. I don’t see the extra value in Buzz, and have chosen (after playing with it) to not use it.

Google Buzz will be last if It can bring more innovation or additional value. As for me, i like the Gmail integration but surely need more to beat twitter. :D

I agree with the comments here, I don’t keep gmail open all the time. When it is I’m using gmail for domains on my personal domain. (which isn’t integrated with buzz)

Buzz just seems like friendfeed integrated into gmail.
Nothing new, I prefer to use tweetdeck for twitter and log into facebook because of the apps and games I use there.

I tried the mobile version today on my IPhone and it just spun, it never detected my location and my post need showed (I had full bars with 3G)

No, no, no.. not Google Buzz now. I won’t stand so many various ways to keep people up-to-date. Overloading can crash you.. and it did once (speaking about me).

But.. if Google Buzz would replace Twitter as a tool to stay connected with your friends/readers/subscribers – then I would, probably, accept it :)

I personally don’t even have the time to get in there and play around with Google Buzz, I keep reading about it but haven’t had a chance to get beyond the adding people part.

  10. Being a photographer, I love that Google Buzz is so photo-friendly. It integrates smoothly with flickr and it displays photos just beautifully. I am not sure about the division of users that you predict. It won’t take long until Google add the option to share the buzz on Twitter and Facebook and vice versa. Look at all the options they provide in Google Reader.
And people like myself, we already use it integrated. I’m using ping.fm in order to distribute my updates to all the mentioned services. So there’s not need for me to decide in favor of any of them. I even posted a tutorial on my blog showing how to setup a distribution like that, so that other photographers can make use if this strategy as well.
Yes, we only have so much time and we ought to use it wisely. However, I think Buzz is worth at least a little bit if it ;-)
