As many of you who have read my blog over the years, Blazing Minds has now been going for a while and this year will be its third anniversary, wow time flows.

I’m proud to announce that since starting this blog I’ve been honoured with a good steady climb with the Google PageRank and this month Blazing Minds now has a page rank of 4, yes it’s one up from the last several Google PageRank updates, but I’m quite happy with the fact it’s gone up.
This is mainly down to the backlinks that the blog has got recently and those that have listed some of my blog posts in their own blogs as well as the awesome CommentLuv plugin allowing me to place some backlinks on some quite amazing blogs.
After reading the post “January 2011 Google PageRank Update” at Evolutionary Designs, I was inspired to just mention the update with this post and I also recommend stopping by the post for a good read and some links to some other interesting stuff, thanks @element321
What Next?
My aim now is hopefully to improve on the Page rank of 4 and even if it doesn’t increase, I’d be quite context with levelling out and staying at 4 for the next few Google PageRank updates, of course, getting a 5 would be amazing, but I’m not holding my breath.
I’ll keep doing what I’m enjoying doing, creating blog posts and commenting on other interesting blogs that I’m enjoying reading across the net.

I guess I should check to see if my blog’s PR has changed. Congrats to you – and in the future I’m going to point some of my critics to your blog, as a lot of the features and widgets and things happening on Blazing Minds are things holier-than-thou self-professed “google PR experts” warn loudly against employing. That tells me (and hopefully should telegraph a message to other bloggers) DO NOT LISTEN to critics, and above all, don’t believe ANYTHINg you reqad on those mass-produced “splog” blogs that dispense information. I realize some of them are written by well-meaning individuals, but the blogs lack character: sorta like you own a green Aston-Martin and you’re in a huge parking lot where EVERYBODY owns a green Aston-Martin and who is to say which one is really yours!
Great accomplishment, Karen! Your blog is SPECIAL and please keep it that way!

Good going on the 4. I bet there is a lot of competition in this type of info you blog about.
Our site was just so new when the last toolbar page rank came out in April of 2010 that we really didn’t have a chance to get anything. I am not a huge watcher of the TBPR but, it was nice to see a 3. This way I kind of know my efforts are working.
I mostly go by how many and what keyphrases are coming in and where we rank in the SERP’s for them. So, the lil boost know as PR is probably a sure sign of going up the right path.

I checked all my sites on Friday after I noticed that some had changed. Now I read that it is a slow process to update all sites so I need to check again at the end of the weekend.

For some reason my post is broken when using FireFox and keeps trying to redirect on itself (i do not have redirect plugin) its only this one post but the article works fine Chrome or Explorer. I will be working on fixing this issue but right now, I don’t where the problem is.

Congrats Karen, I see that Google has been very generous with everyone. I’ve seen lots of people that got a higher PR, actually I didn’t see or heard of anyone that got a lower PR.
Also, PR has lost a lot of it’s power when it comes to ranking. Now the algorithm changes are all the rage, and having a high PR doesn’t necessarily mean that you will remain high in SERPs but will certainly help!

Karen – Congratulations on the increase in PageRank. Moving up from a 3 to a 4 is big step. PageRank is a logarithmic type scale, and I have seen various estimates that each additional one point requires 5-8 times more link juice than the previous one.

So happy for you! You’ve certainly worked hard to earn it. Personally I haven’t checked but I doubt there will be any big changes in my part. Maybe currently my focus is not there but even so, I’ll consider it a gift if it ever goes up some day. If not, always room for improvements.

I had been at 2… and then fell to 0 nine months ago when the update fell right after I screwed up a domain name change (redirects were not correct), and I had sat at 0 all this time. I came back to 2. I had hoped for higher but that is substantially better than zero and a jump of much larger is not likely in one move so I will have to settle for it!

You can check your Google PR on many sites, just do a search for something like “my Google PageRank” and you’ll find loads of sites that will let you know your websites PageRank.

I don’t think that PageRank is as popular as it used to be, but it’s quite self gratifying when it goes up

Page Rank 4! Awesome. I’m currently at a pagerank 3 and I think consistently producing content that is high quality and engaging, coupled with writing what interests the writer over a long period of time is essential and then other aspects are ‘sprinkles’ so to speak. So many blogs are abandoned or rarely updated and it is great to see another go from strength to strength. Congrats on the PR 4.
