It’s been a good two years since I started Blazing Minds and with the support of everyone who has visited, commented and even guest posted here on my blog, Blazing Minds is now two years old, wow doesn’t time fly.

Over those two years, not that much has changed with the overall layout of the blog, but the writing and commitment has and in these two years, I had the honour of meeting some damn fine bloggers (you know who you are) who have helped me with creating a blog that has not been afraid of blogging without a set niche.

Yes you read that right, Blazing Minds is not really in a niche, well I suppose you could say that it’s in a niche of blogging about everything, ok so some subjects have outweighed some others over the two years, but Blazing Minds is just a blog at the end of the day and hopefully it is a blog that people have enjoyed reading and will continue to enjoy reading.

From The Start

Since starting my blog back in 2008 it’s been growing in popularity and when I first started I was getting around 200-300 views a month, which seems like nothing now, these days Blazing Minds is gathering around 24,500+ views a month.

It’s taken a lot of commenting on other blogs, submitting to the various social networks and social bookmarking sites as well as making some great friends along the way that has built up Blazing Minds over the last two years.

Changing Faces

When Blazing Minds was very first conceived it went through a few changes as did my Avatar But once I found a theme for the blog that I was happy with it just stuck, also most will know me from my flame haired Avatar and that is one of the reasons that I have never really changed that either, those searching the net see it on Twitter or FaceBook and instantly know that’s me.

Why change anything now, don’t fix something if it’s not broken

Does Blazing Minds Have A Niche?

In the early days, I was blogging some bizarre stuff, but as I settled down I started blogging more form the mind and the heart than from the seat of my pants, those that do visit here will have noticed that there has been several posts on Twitter Tools and Twitter Websites, but this was mainly down to that I was using and testing a few Twitter based tools and websites at the time and reviewing them.

So some think that Twitter Tools is my niche! Not really from the wide choice of posts there is almost everything and I think that’s what makes the blog different, there is a bit of something for everyone, so I suppose you could only describe the blog in the niche of “mixed bag” and to be honest that suits me fine, I’m enjoying blogging

Opening Up Blazing Minds

Many of my blogging buddies, took up my offer of Guest Posting here on Blazing Minds when I decided to allow guest posts and this opened up a new side of the blog with some interesting and informative posts been posted, such as poems, informative videos, movie reviews and more. This in turn gave me a little extra time to promote the blog and my Twitter @BlazingMinds out to more people and hopefully bring in more readers to not only read my posts, but also the posts of my guest bloggers and it certainly worked

What Have I Learned Over The Last Two Years?

One important thing I have learnt since blogging is to communicate with others, don’t just posts up an article and leave it, never to come back, reply to those comments made when and if you can, answer questions, if you have ComLuv running, then visit the blog posts that are left, you’ll be amazed how many friends you can make and how many things you can learn from the new blogs you’ll find this way.

Something else I learnt is write well written comments on others blogs, blogger don’t appreciate things like “good blog”, “interesting read” or even “nice, I’ve subscribed to your RSS”. Instead write your comment as if you are having a conversation with the blogger and be yourself.

Something else to remember a good webhost is a must and mine Evo Hosting is one I will always trust in Cheers @EvoHosting

SEO isn’t as easy as you think and learning SEO was a bit of a challenge for me, but over the last two years, I like to think that I have done something right with my Search Engine Optimization, I must be doing something right somewhere as I seem to getting a bit of traffic from Google and other Search Engines. But when I first started blogging the dreaded SEO was something that I never even considered, now if I was to start another blog it would one of the first things I’d work on.

Yes, blogging can be very time-consuming and it’s something that can take over a chunk of your life, but, if it’s dome well, you can get loads done and even become a Famous Blogger

What Does The Future Hold?

I don’t think anyone can predict the future, but personally, I hope to be blogging on Blazing Minds up until I can’t blog no more and hopefully this will be for many more years to come, now that’s if my readers enjoy what they are reading and commenting on
