Many years ago I remember seeing an amazing animated movie called The Triplets of Belleville it had me fixed with it’s slightly bizarre characters and it’s wonderful storyline.
Now Sylvain Chomat is back with another animated movie called “The Illusionist”.
The Illusionist is one of a dying breed of stage entertainers. With emerging rock stars stealing his thunder, he is forced to accept increasingly obscure assignments in fringe theatres, at garden parties and in bars and cafes. However, while performing in a village pub off the west coast of Scotland, he encounters Alice, an innocent young girl, who will change his life forever.
I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie which opens in UK cinemas on the 20th August.

I don’t think they have finalised a release date for the States as of yet, but if it doesn’t hit the big screen, I dare say it will be released there on DVD

très intéressant, I had seen The Triplets of Belleville a number of years ago in the theaters as well – a fun and quirky film – loved the way the music added a vividity to the action. (and yes I made that word up – we are writers we can do what ever we want)

I haven’t heard of the Triplets of Belleville and neither about The Illusionist. I would like to see them because I like animated movies a lot. I enjoy an animated movie more than a normal movie, I don’t know why, but I can laugh a lot better
