I have to admit to that I’m probably a bit late when it comes to using Google Chrome full-time, I have used it in the past, but always fell back to FireFox, but, now I using Google Chrome over other browsers.
It all started with the update on FireFox to version 3.6.2, my system slowed down when I updated to this version and it was just getting on my nerves, I haven’t used Internet Explorer 8 for ages and never really liked it, so it was time to grab the latest version of Google Chrome and go from there.
Suffice to say, it was a bit daunting at first with a lot of the FireFox plugins I use not on Chrome, but thanks to a post by DragonBlogger, “Top 10 Google Chrome Extensions” which led me to a post by Rob, “My top 10 Google Chrome extensions I can’t live without” I found several extensions that would make my browsing better with Google Chrome, though I do miss some of my favourite plugins from FireFox, but the speed of Google Chrome is vastly better than FireFox and I’m browsing much more in the space of time compared to FireFox.
So for now, I’m quite happy to have Google Chrome as my default browser

Why I’m Currently Using Google Chrome over FireFox or IE8…
I have to admit to that I’m probably a bit late when it comes to using Google Chrome full-time, I have used it in the past, but always fell back to FireFox…

I still use Firefox, but really miss Safari as my main browser [I'm on a Mac]. I tend to go back and forth. I liked Opera, but was wondering why I needed so many browsers.
I might consider switching one day and will keep everyone’s posts in mind when [if] I do.

Hi Anne, I used Safari once. But often went back to FireFox, until now that is

I also had issues with Firefox 3.6.2. I Updated Java yesterday after I found a hint to do so on the Mozilla support page. Since then, works fine again. In case you want to use again Firefox, hopes this help.

Hi Karen,
I’m glad you made the switch. I saw your comments on Buzz about how slow FF was for you. Now you can check my YouTube Channel for some screencasts on extensions like Diigo, Zemanta and Readability. http://www.youtube.com/MsIleaneSpeaks
Have fun!

Chrome is certainly the way forward for browsing but I still keep all of my plugins in Firefox simply because I do not want to lose out on browsing speed on Chrome. What makes Chrome so good is that it is so simple but that is also it’s downfall. As for IE, does anyone use that rubbish anymore?

Thanks very much for linking to my article – very much appreciated. Glad you are finding Chrome so much better.
On a separate note, what’s the plugin or overlay you are using for the left sidebar and footer please? It’s beautiful.

I still use both browsers all the time. I usually have one browser open and it has sessions from some of my profiles, and the other browser open to support different profiles.

yes, i totally agree with you. Before firefox was doing great for me but i dont know after which update it totally went wrong. Whenever i use Firefox my system slows down and screen behaves like as if i haven’t installed display driver while scrolling down or top. Now i am using google chrome and it works great for me.

I’m still using the Firefox. I really do not wish to sacrifice some of the interesting plugins when using Firefox even though many people advise me to switch to Google Chrome. Some of these plugins really help me a lot when blogging. Maybe oneday I will try Google Chrome. Thanks for your sharing!

I am still using Firefox because it works for me for a very long time. I tried Avast, Opera but they just didn’t felt like Firefox. I tried Google Chrome for a short time but I didn’t liked it very much, although I know it’s very fast and the best thing about it is that it uses a separate process for every tab which prevents it from crashing like other browsers. After your mini review I will give it a try again

( I loved this browser, until now!! I hope they will resolve this issue.

I did a complete uninstall the other day of FireFox and then reinstalled it, it seemed to cure a few problems, but I’m still using Chrome 90% of the time..
I’ve tried all of them, but sticking with Firefox. For some reason I absolutely hate the icon for chrome. I also don’t like the name. Look how Google is taking over the world and it all started with a search engine!

Interesting. I’ve read a few posts lately about how fast FF 2.6.2 is.
Once I get deeper into social media, I’ll be moving to Flock.

I use FF a little bit, but I really do prefer IE8. There’s a few things with the tabs I wish they had and I use FF for the entrecard toolbar (ducks out of the way for flying comments)
I haven’t tried chrome yet. Guess I just didn’t want to give the Evil Google any more of my attention/data

Hi karen,
I noticed the same thing when I updated to latest versions of Firefox. I also notice fire fox crashes and it can’t handle certain sites without a computer restart. Annoying…
I switched to Chrome and use it most of the time. But I still use firefox because some sites do not like Chrome and I just can’t let it go completely…yet.

With the latest changes to FF I noticed the sluggishness of the application right after updating. I use Firefox just for Logmein Rescue and use Chrome for the everything else.

The new FF alpha that will become FF4 is pretty fast but I suspect that as development proceeds there will be features added that will slow it down. Do you remember when Firefox first turned up, it was great because there were no security issues and now you get as many fixes as you do for Internet Explorer.
I like Chrome but discovered that it stores a lot of information about sites you visit in Google Docs in the hidden folder and you cannot delete the stuff!

I’m updated Firefox 3.6.2 and now downloading 3.6.3, I did not find any problem in any of these versions.
I use chrome now and then but ultimately I switch back to Firefox whenever I need to gather some statistics. Firefox is so strong due to the large number of extensions available for it.
Would chrome remain as fast after installed all those extensions? Moreover, I don’t like Chrome because it has neglated so many interesting aspects of web. It does not display the title of page, it does not support animated favicons, it does not have RSS button on address bar. Whenever any of these tools needed handy, copy the url and paste on Firefox!

I like how Chrome is blazing fast but I find it with less features and plug ins compared with Firefox. Also its proxy and internet settings are dependent on IE. So to change Chrome’s settings you need to change IE settings.

You can add me to the list of people late to the show when it comes to Chrome, John Sullivan talked me into trying it one day and I haven’t looked at FF since.
I do wish there was an extension that displayed my analytics in the browser window without me clicking or doing anything.

You think you are late to the Chrome game I haven’t even tried it yet. I suppose I’ll get around to it but FF works just fine for me and I’ve been loading it up with some very helpful SEO plugins lately that I don’t know if Chrome has – yes I’m just making excuses – I suppose I need to try it out so I can see for sure.

Yes I just started using SEO Quake for firefox – I don’t know what I did without it. I noticed the announcement that it is available for Chrome as well so I really don’t have a valid excuse not to try it – other than laziness.

Chris, I agree with you, I had the same!
Anyway, Chrome is good for fast browsing, now you can add some more basic tools for your SEO work that is awesome!
Nice stuff here, keep it up please!
