Many of you reading this humble blog of mine may have noticed that the TweetMeme button has been replaced with the Twittley button!

This is thanks to some interesting posts that I have recently read, the first was by DragonBloggerReasons Why Twittley is Better than Tweetmeme for Wordpress” about the weight that Twittley places on the person making the [tag]tweets[tag], which then lead me to the post by Tycoon BloggerTwittley is better than Tweetmeme” which really gave me the incentive to change, I recommend checking out both posts and then make up your own minds ;)

  3. If you’re going to go with Twittley (which I obviously recommend that you do) then I would suggest that you read the following two posts on our blog on how to get the most out of it.

Thanks to everyone for your comments so far, as an update to the post I just tried to update to V1.2 of the Twittley plugin, but my Wordpress just didn’t like it and came up with several errors, so I had to resort back to the original version, so if anyone is not sure about updating to 1.2 then download you plugin from your WP installation before updating, so you have something to fall back on ;)

  12. Hi Karen,

I have recently installed Twittley, and am now a big fan of it. Tweetmeme never appealed to me, even though I’m sure that it’s a fine plugin. What got me about Twittley though was the weighted vote system, and the fact that visitors could simply press the button, vote for your article, and never skip a beat. That is AWESOME, and it makes Twittley an innovator and has put Tweetmeme on the defensive. And when an established group is on the defensive, that simply means that the users benefit from the competition.
