Well looky here, it’s the beginning of another month, so what happened in July, well for starters it was a busy month. My blog had stacks of comments, views and conversations going on, possibly more than previous months and with the build of new commentators cam the influx of the dreaded spammers that tried to abuse the KeywordLuv and CommentLuv plugins, but we know who you are….

Anyway, as this is the beginning of August and July is now but a fleeting memory, I thought it would be good to bring in a few stats etc just for your enjoyment, so I’m going to start with the mighty list of those that took the time to leave comments that were actually worth their weight in gold ;)

I would imagine that despite the help all of us are giving, and all the work you’re putting into the blog, that 20,000 pageviews might not happen again immediately. I do hope that you can get 30,000 pageviews in August at least, and I’ll help toward that end. But things are up and down with the Internet, and it isn’t ever really clear when one “makes it” as a blogger. It’s possible to get something like 5,000 uniques a month, but if you’re getting linked to from the Smithsonian or a prominent Harvard professor’s blog, you’ve “made it” regardless of traffic.

In any case, congratulations, and rest assured that yeah, things are going to be better for your blog no matter what. Keep up the great work!

Out of curiosity, do you have a tool to capture this information # of commenters or did you literally count them?

Forgive me if I missed that part. Thanks, Karen.

Karen, wonderful to see your stats soaring so high! I’m really proud of how you put some so called “niche” bloggers to shame. Cheers!

Congrats on a great month! You deserve it. You have a fantastic site, and I love coming here to see what you are writing about. Nothing wrong with the blog-about-anything niche. :)

Yeah, you are in the blog-about-anything niche and you are doing a great job, Karen. The stats says it all. I completely agree with what Ileane has said.

I also agree with the idea that it is refreshing to find a blog that is not tied to a niche. That might turn out to be your biggest drawcard. I was (until it closed) an avid follower of a blog that “very loosely” sat in the health niche. But the readers were all there to be entertained – not learn about health matters. Sometimes an entertaining style is all you need. Make a person laugh out loud and you’ve got them!

Will be very interesting to see how your “top commentators” contest affects the figures for this month.
