Leapfish – A New Generation in Real Time Searching

So your using Google, MSN or Bing to search the net! But what about giving these guys a run for their money and trying out a new type of website search engine, one that takes Real Time search results and brings them to you as quick as a flash!

Well now you can with a new search engine called LeapFish not only can you search the internet with this new multimedia search engine but you can also customize the site from the homepage with the option of logging via connecting your FaceBook account.

I connected my FaceBook account to LeapFish.com to give it good checking out!

So after connecting my account I tried the two search options the first the default search and searched for “Blazing Minds”, when the results come up you can then cycle through Google, Yahoo and Bing to see the results from each of the engines. You also get the options to choose from Videos, Images, News, Blogs and Shopping, brilliant and the results are so quick and informative.

LeapFish Search Results

Next I tried the Real Time search, this time I tried a search for a word of the top of my head, “Batman” great I was delivered a list of News Results, Wikipedia, Web results, video, twitter, blogs and even digg posts, outstanding.

So using LeapFish is great and much more than other browsers, you can customize the way the homepage is shown with widgets, changing colours, you can even add LeapFish to your search list in FireFox!

But what I really like about this search engine is the way that everything comes up on one page and it’s also very quick, so if you are looking for an alternative to Google, Yahoo, Bing or other engines then give it a go, I’m glad I did ;)

LeapFish is conducting private demos prior to the highly anticipated launch, if interested please email demo@leapfish.com

Ohh, all those search engines … google, bing, wolfram alpha, leapfish etc… I’m still sticking with google, hoping that they will be able to provide something like leapfish sooner or later :)

By the way, you write “So using LeapFish is great and much more than other browsers, ” – don’t you mean “search engines” at the end, rather than “browsers”?

I enjoyed reading this post. I can see the advantages of using search engines like LeapFish over Google for certain kinds of searches. Real-time search is quite a hot area at this time. Like in any new, exciting area, a thousand different approaches will be tried but only a few will succeed. I want to bring to your attention the first and only truly semantic search engine that currently works on Twitter data, TipTop, now available in a beta version at http://FeelTipTop.com TipTop’s powerful engine understands each and every message on Twitter just like a human being would. As a result, it can discover from within the data the very best tweets organized nicely along a variety of categories and concepts learned dynamically. In fact, the entire platform learns from data as data flows through the engine. You can now see in real time the sentiment associated with anything in the world that people are talking about. Please give it a try. We also have a special for Thanksgiving on our site this month which you wouldn’t want to miss.

Nice service to try, but will people use it for long term? Because Bing and Google now are supporting real time searching, and I even really love the old way to use Google Alert (it alerts me whenever a new result about my query appears on web).

I tried this a couple of months ago and thought it was cool but I always forget to go back to it. when i need to search for something I automatically go to Google. It would take a lot for me to switch.

I have never heard of Leapfish, I checked it out, the results really good. It’s more presentable and you have a lot of options here. But not sure whether this will succeed as Google, Yahoo or Bing. Anyways thanks for sharing, I don’t mind to keep it as an alternative ;)
