Free directory submissions take 3-6 months to get a listing. I find link exchange unsavory. In my opinion and experience, blogwalking is the way to go. Do-follow is just the icing on the cake. Ordinary readers of every niche except technology/internet/blogging do not know anything about Google PR or Alexa Traffic Rank or No-Follow.

Yes! I always leave comment in others Do-follow blogs. I love to do this as i can learn from what i read in the blog at the same time to build up the link. Thanks for sharing!

Something else to think about, at least initially if you don't want to do it for long, is adding a few links to your blogroll. Hi Dana I think I have read first guest post from you, it is not bad idea that you start guest posting. I like to read article on building link. My main link building strategy is research on it, first I analyze the backlinks of my competitors and there after I start my link development strategy. Honestly — from all of the tips in this article, link exchange is the easiest way but also the most risky. We should be really careful in link exchange — avoid it if you do not sure.
