Since starting my blog several years ago, it has been a long road, building up that reputation of great posts that readers come to expect of Blazing Minds, but, is Blazing Minds becoming its own brand?
Several people have asked me about my blog and the use of the title Blazing Minds and recently on the advice of some good friends I have utilised the name a little bit more that I used to, ok, we all add our blog title in the name options when commenting, that’s if the blog owner is kind enough to use keywordluv, otherwise I use my name.
But recently I started using Twitter @ Anywhere on the blog and some of you have noticed and thankfully used the Twitter box that I have added to the end of the post pages and with this Twitter box comes the benefit of marketing Blazing Minds as a brand name, as each time a tweet is made from the tweet box it is quoted in twitter with a link back to this blog and you can find it in the tweets as you can see in the one below:
Also I’ve recently discovered Tweetons, which I will be reviewing soon, which enable you to either use it organize twitter competitions or as I like to use it as a form of branding, simple and free to use, so a handy gadget there then
So what does it all mean?
Well to put it simply, by having Blazing Minds as a “brand” it enables me to do several things, first, I can find who is tweeting etc about the blog as Blazing Minds is fairly exclusive across the many social networks etc on the internet. Secondly having all this going on with backlinks coming to my blog and sites posting about Blazing Minds does help improve on the ranking across many sites as well, you’ve only got to type “Blazing Minds” in a search engine and up I pop
Hopefully as I “market” the Blazing Minds name, it will increase in its popularity over the internet, of course, it not just down to me marketing the name, it’s also down to those that are kind enough to tweet the posts here on the blog as well as using the tweet box and other features which I may be bringing in over time.
So let’s see how this marketing goes and hopefully the Blazing Minds brand name
will go from strength to strength…

I owe you for pointing me on to Tweetons which I just signed up for, I will be doing my own campaign and testing of this tool. Once again you pointed me to something I hadn’t heard of before and I will credit you as I have done previously.

Where is this Twtter @ Anywhere you speak of? I must be blind because I cannot find it. But this blog is excellent. I am working on the branding of mine and hopefully I’ll get there one day. My blog is less than a month old so I can’t complain
Has been a crazy few weeks.

Hey there Wayne, when a twitter name is listed such as @BlazingMinds when you hover over it, a twitter information box should appear
I don’t think of “Blazing Minds” as a brand – I mean, it is the blog title, and I’ll refer to the blog by its title. But I’m like “oh yeah, I want to visit Karen’s blog” more than “Blazing Minds is the place to be online! (as opposed to some other site)”
I’ll make sure to refer to this blog by its proper title whenever I can: it’s important for the keyword phrase “Blazing Minds” to have as much currency with search engines as it possibly can have. And it is important for any other ventures online and offline you may undertake; the blog does act as a business card of sorts.

Ashok makes an interesting point. You should be sure to make sure your name is synonymous with BM and vice-verse, ala Darren Rowse/Problogger.

This is also a goal of mine Karen. I’m not sure if I want to pursue this hard with my current blog, or use it as my ‘trial-run’ and develop concept that I have. In any case right now I’m sticking with the one blog, as the ideas brew for something new.

I just couldn’t understand what to do on Tweeton. There were some things like creating campaigns and rewarding customers. What’s the reward?
Btw, more than branding BlazingMinds, you have already branded your avatar to a great extent.

Thanks for the information. And are you thinking of replacing this avatar with a logo? If it is so, then I would suggest not to do that, at least not on the social media sites.

It’s becoming increasingly important to brand your site well because it’s so hard now to find keyword-rich domains and compete with websites who are top of the search engines for those highly searched terms.

I think Dennis has added an interesting point. Then name Darren Rowse and Problogger just go together – almost everyone who knows of one of those names knows the other. So I guess that is the ultimate aim for you.
Me – I don’t bother about branding, I’m really more about keywords, but I do notice some folk search for me by name which is good.
You’ve told me about several Twitter appliances that I was not aware of, so thanks for that. Always good to learn more.
