Well it was announced earlier tonight that the new Doctor Who will be Matt Smith, who I hear you shout, well let’s see shall we.
Matt Smith is in fact the youngest doctor out of all eleven at the age of 26, but don’t get too excited just yet as we won’t actually see him until Spring 2010, David Tennant still has four hour long specials to complete before handing of the key to the TARDIS!
Matt Smith is not a new comer and has started in several programs already these include “Secret Diary of a Call Girl”, “The Shadow in the North” both starting with Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) and in the programs “The Street” and “Party Animals”
Acording to the Steven Moffet who takes over Doctor Who as executive producer from Russel T Davies “The Doctor is a very special part, and it takes a very special actor to play him. You need to be old and young at the same time, a boffin and an action hero, a cheeky schoolboy and the wise old man of the universe.
“As soon as Matt walked through the door, and blew us away with a bold and brand new take on the Time Lord, we knew we had our man.

I am always skeptical when the times comes to have a new doctor, but it always turns out great.

@Morten Pederson: I wasn’t sure about Christopher Eccleston and just as I was getting used to him, he left and now David Tennant is leaving, who I think is one of the best Doctors, along side Jon Pertwee, I suppose I’l get used to Matt Smith and from what I hear on the grapevine is that the TARDIS is also getting a make over….
