Miley Cyrus Says Goodbye To 2 Million Followers on Twitter
Posted by Karen in Twitter, tags: celebrities, celebrity twittersIt just goes to prove that not all celebrities are overly fussed about Twitter as Miley Cyrus decided to delete her Twitter account with over 2 million followers!
And to explain her decision in deleting the account she decided to knock up a rap song and post it on youtube.
So, is anyone really bothered that she has deleted her account? Or is it a publicity stunt to gain more people to talk about her on the net, if it’s the later it’s certainly working, as I’m posting about it now and so are other bloggers.
Anyway here’s the video on YouTube, for anyone that is actually interested:
UPDATE: It seems that Miley Cyrus may be back on Twitter (mileycyrus_back), a twitter account has appeared, but at the moment, no one knows if it is a fake account or the real Miley Cyrus…

I had seen her Twitter sometime back and must say it really wasn’t that interesting, but people do have a tendency to stalk, erm I mean follow, celebrities on Twitter..

I didn’t even know she had a twitter account
I guess in about a year or so, she’ll have regret her decision, create one again and have another two million followers in no time. Then after a year or two, again, she’ll do another video and delete her twitter account. Then after a year she….. I guess you know where I’m going with this

It’s certainly one way to start building a fanbase that little bit more

I like Miley, and as a parent, I appreciate her message – I hope her young fans don’t miss it. “I stopped livin’ for moments and started livin’ for people.” When you get “addicted” to any site, or to any activity like blogging or twittering, you have less time to actually LIVE the life you’re sharing online. And if you don’t live that life, you have nothing interesting to tweet or blog ABOUT.
That said, I sure hope Miley doesn’t give up singing and acting to become a rapper. She’s cute, but it’s just not her niche.

A lot of young people don’t quite get into Twitter the way some adults do. I find Twitter addictive because I can meet that many more people, but most of the younger Twitterers I’ve met seem to have their small groups, and very personal updates.
I wonder if, then, it takes that much more effort for someone who’s younger to most effectively use Twitter. They’ve got other technologies they’re more comfortable with, for example IM and the like, or Facebook even.

You know I have seen an abnormal amount of anti twitter you tube videos lately. Seems anyone that is anyone is trying to create a bad buzz for the company. To be frank I never would follow this idiot anyways so twitter is a better place without her.

Hey there Karen,
I think she deleted her account to avoid any more bashing from the media. First it was the risque pictures, then it was her ridiculous comments, then it was more risque pictures, and who knows what else she plans on doing that it not age appropriate. I’m sure that she decided it was best to get rid of the Twitter account account to avoid any more ridicule she may get from pictures she may post or comments that she may want to take back. Later.

I think it could well be a stunt, as it looks like she has re-joined twitter with a new account!

Pure publicity.. Maybe she just wants to have her fans begging her to come back.. Some kinda crazy ego booster

Probably it’s a tactic from the management. You know, they got to do what they got to do to survive.

The video proves to me that this is all about publicity. One must do what one can to keep the name in the headlines.
I don’t dislike Miley; my kids are too old to watch her on TV so I don’t have to sit there and screen for content. (My real problem is that I am a TV addict. If it’s turned on, I will watch whatever is showing. Even Hanna Montana!)
As far as the Twitter account goes, she is probably shooting for more followers this time, though I wouldn’t count on many rap fans as followers. Of course, some people who follow her are probably just addicted to celebrity.

I am probably showing my age here, but I have no idea who she is. It’s just plain stupid, IMO, to delete an established account. All she had to do was stop tweeting for a while, if she got tired of it.
