The Muppets – Blazing Minds Film Review #ApolloRhylFilmReviewer
Posted by Karen in Rhyl Apollo CinemaI have to say that I’ve always loved The Muppets since those childhood days of getting out of the bath on a Sunday night and my mum drying my hair while I watched The Muppet Show.
It’s taken me a while to catch up and review the new outing for our favourite and lovable characters, mainly down to time constraints, so tonight, I caught the last showing of The Muppets at @ApolloCinemas Rhyl and prepared myself to see if I could harken back to those child hood days of fun, laughter and just plain silly stuff!
The Muppets – Blazing Minds Film Review
The story goes that it’s been many years since the Muppets last worked together and they have now gone their separate ways and an oil tycoon, Tex Richman wants to take control of the Muppet Theatre to drill for oil, so starts a race to get all the Muppets back together to have telethon to raise $10 Million to save the theatre from the evil tycoon.
We have a serious of wonderful songs and daft sequences to bring all the Muppets together and it’s all a good bit of fun. Such as Animal being in anger management and not being allowed to hear the word “drums”
The film kind of reminded me of my childhood days how the Muppets used to be on TV before they left us for the big screen with their movies, it was great see the opening sequence from the TV shows performed on the big screen and I even found myself singing along to the Muppet theme at that point.
I’m not sure if this is going to appeal to a lot of the children these days, that have been brought up with all the CGI on their TV screens these days and all the computer games etc, but for me it was a damn fine bit of nostalgia for me and probably other people watching the film that remembers the original Muppet Show.
Though I do have to say that some of the kids watching the film did find it very funny and they certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Overall Thoughts For The Muppets
A brilliant family film that both parents and kids can enjoy together, good clean fun and a laugh a minute.

I have to agree with you there. There was alot of reference to the “old” muppets as we, the adults, had known and loved them. I absolutely loved it, my eldest daughter of 9 found it hilarious and absolutely loved it the way i loved it when i was her age. My son, on the other hand, he is 3, and he did find it in parts hard to follow, but could not get enough of “manamana do do dododo”. He could not stop singing it all the way home. I think if you haven’t grown up with the fabulous muppets then you might not get it, my kids have through their mad family haha. Thank you for the review it was exactly how I would have put it to be honest.

Thanks for enjoying my review
I can’t wait for it to come out on Blu-Ray so I can enjoy manamana do do dododo all over again
Hey there, I was just reading your review and I was reminded to what extent we were spoilt with the good movies and cartoon of our childhood days. I am an avid fan of cartoons and kids movies and in all honesty, the cartoons that they show on TV today lack the magic and fantasy that I grew up watching. There is so much violence and hatred in children movies these days, no wonder that kids as young as 5 have started picking up real revolvers and finishing off their siblings!

Hey Karen;
Yes, yes, yes! We absolutely loved this movie when it came out here in the U.S. As a Muppet fan I was a little uncertain at first as I didn’t want them “messing with my childhood”. But all those involved did a great job!
I even just got the Kermit the Frog puppet from BABW too! “It ain’t easy being green”.
Keep up the great work!

I have always loved the Muppets and my kids enjoyed the movie, watching Animal “In Control” and the cameo appearances by Jack Black were hilarious.

I can’t wait for the Blu-Ray to come out, it’s a wonderful film, did you read my comment earlier about a sequel?
One of my favorite memories of my brother is when the Muppets Christmas Carol was new and in theaters. My brother and I were totally enjoying that film and laughing harder and longer than anyone else in that theater. We live several states away now and I haven’t seen him for a long time. I’m glad we were able to enjoy that time together. I think we were 19 and 22 at the time.
