Monkey Dust Liar CliveNow I’ve always been a fan of the TV show Monkey Dust that used to be on BBC Three some years ago with it’s quirky characters and amazing music, this is the show that introduced me to the wonderful musical talents of Goldfrapp and Boards of Canada!

So since having a trusty iPod I’ve been collecting the tracks that have been on the several series that the show ran over and when I originally typed this post I had 22 tracks, now at my most recent count I have 56 tracks that were used over the three series on Monkey Dust, yes that many!

Wow thanks for submitting my article, very much appreciate, I’ll be stopping by your blog and doing the same for you ;) It is a weird show, it’s just a shame that only one series out of the three is only available on DVD.

  2. Gruson says:

Don’t forget Bent – As you fall. Featured in season 3, for example ep3 6:30

  3. Quinno says:

Eddie Warner – Come (Ivan Dobski on the spacehopper).

Difficult to find, I got mine off Ebay – Later Lounge 2 CD :)

  4. Karen

Thanks Quinno, I’ve got some updating to do to the list, so I’ll get S Club 7 added and also some other tracks I’ve since added ;)

  5. Karen

For all you Mr Hoppy fans out there, and I know there are a few, I’ve added a youtube video of Mr Hoppy and Ivan Dobski. Enjoy ;)

  6. Monkeydustfan says:

Thank you thank you thank you so much. My friend from London got me into this show and I have been looking for the playlist for years. There is one song I am looking for. The only part of the lyrics you hear are ” this land tales my breath away” and it has a very mellow caverness sound. The scene is dreamscape with the boy that visits his father and they are running in a dead forrest when the boys ballon gets stuck in a tree. Its is absolutely sublime and I would love to have it in my collection. Would you know what the song is?

    Thanks again

  7. laura rose says:

Dont forget the cinematic orchestra – channel 1 suite. :)

  8. Fuzzypiggy says:

The best animation show ever and a tragic loss when Thompson died.

Wow, that is a stunning list! I’ve worked out about 20 and got hold of them, even got into Boards of Canada via MD.

    Congrats on the list!

  9. WendyPecoraro says:

Here is song that I do not see on the list–when the lady was having an unusual relationship w/her dog, Samson.

This Love by Craig Armstrong featuring Liz Fraser.

Thank you for the list, my friend.

There are some songs here that I didn’t know that were in the show. Thank you for sharing. I kind of want to watch Monkey Dust again.

  11. Shane Ryans says:

I will have to check it out, i like many UK shows. I also love the music they incorporate. Thanks for the share.

  12. Graham Price says:

To anyone interested, there is a track in Season 2 episode 6 called ‘Cariad’ by J-Walk with vocals by Guy Garvey. It took me so long to find it that I felt it was worth sharing. I looked in all sorts of avenues, so typically it was imdb that saved the day. Beautiful song, underrated TV show, comment over.

  13. chloe says:

hi there, can you tell me the track that plays at the end of season 2, episode 5??? thanks!! Chloe

    • Karen Woodham

Hi Chloe, I’m afraid I couldn’t tell you what the track was used without hearing it, as there are so many tracks used in the show and it’s been many years since I’ve had the chance to see any episodes since the show was cancelled.

  14. Liam Bratley says:
