Now I’m not saying I’ve got all my CDs on my new iPod just yet, but I came across some tapes with some amazing album on such as Profiles by Nick Mason, so now I have the challenge of getting the tapes onto my iTunes, ok, so I could get some on CD, but, the Profiles album is not available on CD, I couldn’t find it except on Amazon for nearly £40, honestly £40.
So I have decided to copy the album onto a CD or MniDisc (MD’s are easier to edit) and then just transfer the CD onto iTunes via the computer, I’ve come up on the same problem with some of my old vinyl albums, yes kids many years ago people would put music on a piece of plastic and then put a gold coated diamond needle on it to play music.
The great thing about the vinyl is I can filter out some of the crackle through my PC, so some advantage there, but all this is time consuming, but for those rare (amazing) albums that record companies in their wisdom have decided to delete or not even bother re-releasing on CD, I’m afraid it’s the only way..
