My dilemma was the question of how to post on my blog via my mobile phone, so there is an option built into WordPress that will allow you to post via email, but when I tried this through my mobile, it just wouldn’t have it and the resulting post was a mis-match of characters!

So, I delved deeper into Flickr Photos the photo hosting website and discovered on the Flickr Tools page that you can email your photo to Flickr, great, even better you also have the option of sending that photo to your blog, even better!

I set it up, it’s so simple, now all I have to do is email my photo to Flickr with my special email address use the subject for the picture title and the message is used as the description of the photo as well as the body text of the blog post…

This is such a useful function for bloggers, now when you are away from your blog you can still blog with some photos of where you are and what you are doing ;)

So how can you set this up?

First you need a Flickr account, then you will need to access the Tools page at the bottom of the Flickr Homepage this will tell you how to upload onto Flickr via various ways, the option you want is under upload via email, set up your blog on Flickr so they know where to post your pictures and also add the email address into your phone’s address book…

Follow all the simple instructions and then you should be blogging via your mobile phone and Flickr ;)

I had no idea that was possible, but really cool – and easy if you need to blog a photo real quick and don’t have a WordPress application on your mobile.

Does it require a paid flickr account to be able to do that?

    Hey there Karen,

I have this problem too. I cannot seem to post a decent blog post through my mobile phone. The best I can do is post something as if it were a text message. Imagine writing a blog post with only 160 characters! I’ll try this out and hopefully it will work for me. Thanks!

  6. I’ve been uploading cell phone pictures to my Flickr account for a while now. It’s a great feature. I haven’t tried to post on my blog yet. I would like to Tweet with my non-iPhone cell. It would be nice to reply to comments too. I wish I had went with the iPhone. Now I have to wait for my 2 year contract to expire.

The problem I have is that I can’t send mail from my cellphone. Any suggestions for a service to which you can send MMS?

You can send a photo and blog together via MMS with the same link as in an email to Flickr. Set up the Flickr link as if it were for email and use it for your MMS. However there may be a special fee on your mobile service for an MMS. Good luck! MS

This is some cool stuff, I would love to be able to post to my blog from my mobile phone. Although I don’t know how often I would do it, posting on that small keyboard would kill me :)
