Review: The Final Destination 3D

The Final Destination 3DSo after last weeks fiasco of the couple before us getting the last tickets, I finally got to go and see “The Final Destination 3D” last night, so, was it worth the wait?

The film which is the fourth in the series and oddly enough the second 3D film, though the 3rd film used those awful blue and red 3D glasses!

This time we are given the full 3D treatment with the new cinema system of Real-3D and it’s really good, everything that should be coming out at you does, from the massive car pile up at the beginning to blood spatters and more…

Though some parts of the film are a bit over the top and gory, but it wouldn’t be a Final Destination movie then would it ;)

So long story short! The film follows in its predecessors foot steps, a group of people cheat death and then are picked off in gruesome ways, one by one.

Now the problem I had with this film is it just seems to be so predictable, but don’t let that put you off, the gore and the 3D certainly make up for it, why anyone was going to see the 2D version in the next screen, I will just never know, there are parts of the film that are blatant 3D such as the main character pushing a burning stick up towards the camera to set off a water sprinkler, kind of reminded me of the scene in Friday the 13th 3D when the woman was hanging the washing out and pushing the clothes prop into the camera!

I do remember seeing the other three movies in the cinema and people laughing and also cringing at some of the gore etc, but in this one there wasn’t much going on with the cinema goers, they mostly seemed to just sit there and take it in their strides. Maybe people are used to gore these days or they were just amazed by the 3D.

But I did enjoy the film, it’s nice to see a film that doesn’t try to go over the top with the 3D too much and push it in your face all the time, excuse the pun!

So if you want to see a good 3D film and you enjoyed the previous Final Destinations then this is certainly for you.

My final rating for The Final Destination 3D is 3.5 out of 5.

I know that I wouldn’t waste my time going to the movies to see in 2D, I rather watch at home. But I could waste my time in 3D lol.

Yes we had 3D glasses, but, they are more like very weak sun glasses, both the lenses are the same, non of those daft red and green lenses. You can see the glasses on my post “Bear is looking for a name”
