You may have noticed that this is part two of my review of the North Face Hedgehog trainers that I kindly received from FitnessFootWear, if you haven’t read part one yet, then just click Review: North Face Hedgehog (Part 1 Introduction).

I did originally hope to get this second part out a bit sooner, but thanks to the typical and somewhat unpredictable British summer weather, I’ve been kept back the constant rain that has hit us lately ;)

Anyway, let’s get on with the review of these North Face Hedgehog lightweight women’s speed hiking shoes.

I won’t go into all the specs again as you’ll find these in part one of the review, but suffice to say, these trainers are light, when I first looked at them I had the strange feeling that they would be quite cumbersome and heavy to wear, but they are really light and when I’m wearing them they are just so comfortable.

On to my little field test of the Hedgehog trainers, now I will openly admit that I’m not one of the fittest people on the planet, yes I do a lot of walking and having some [intlink id="review-skechers-shape-ups-walking-on-air" type="post"]Skechers Shape-Up[/intlink]s has really helped with me getting that little bit fitter with the walking, but when it actually comes to running, I’m not as fit as I used to be ;)

So I started using the Hedgehog trainers to do a bit of walking, but, I decided to walk at a faster pace than normal, a sort of speed walking and worked up from there over a period of days, the trainers are good at absorbing the shocks from walking fast and each step was comfortable.

When it came to giving them a test with me running, I was quite surprised how they performed, not only are they absorbing the shocks, the grip on the shoes is great, I ended up in the wet and I felt really secure in the fact that hey were gripping the different surfaces I was running on, grass, mud, roads and pavements all performed well and not once did I slip!

Overall I would have to recommend the North Face Hedgehog lightweight women’s speed hiking shoes to anyone and don’t worry guys you can get your hands on them in men’s sizes as well, so there’s no excuse for not to get out there and get fit ;)

Sounds good! I’m not quite in the market for specialty shoes right now, but these do sound awesome, and ‘lightweight’ cannot be underestimated when it comes to shoes for getting in shape.

I think I want to do a lot of walking today, but it is going to be very hot in my area. Blah.

I was expecting the second part of this review and as usual I wasn’t disappointed :) The shoes seem to be an excellent choice for people that are walking a lot or even jogging. I also do jogging 2-3 times a week and I must say that the shoes are the most important if you don’t want to get injured.
