    2. Know how you want to finish your blog post since starting to write
    3. Choose your title carefully and make sure readers will remember it
    4. Get your readers attention from the beginning in order to keep them interested
    5. Write detailed content
    6. Don’t forget to check your spelling and grammar

    Here are my 6 tips:
    1. KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid! No need for big fancy words when writing a blog
    2. Write about current relevant topics – not things that have happened a long time ago
    3. Update regularly – stick to a schedule whenever you can
    4. Quantity matters in blogging – Quality comes first, but how much content you generate is a close second.
    5. Don’t forget the keywords – Very necessary to blogs!
    6. Spell check and proofread – ‘Nuff said.

    Well, I have 100 tips in my latest blog post, but here are 6 of my best:

    1. Don’t feel you have to post daily. A lot of blogs do just fine without a new post every single day. And posting every day can see a big decrease in the quality of the posts you’re putting up.
    2. Keep widgets, toolbars and other sidebar clutter to a minimum. (I do enjoy your blog Karen, but you have some kind of toolbar on all four sides – I have a small screen and it feels like I’m “boxed in”.)
    3. Be honest about why you’re blogging. Don’t claim to have a blog about your personal life when over 50% of the blog contains poorly disguised paid plugs. And don’t claim to be writing about a specific topic if most of your blog is just off-topic posts. If necessary, consider having one “serious” blog and one “random” blog. (I think this would work well for a lot of the blogs I’ve seen out there.)
    4. Posts take time to gather comments. If you just wrote something great, don’t push it down the page by writing another post “just to keep the numbers up”. Why not let the post stay up for a day or two so it can attract a bit more attention?
    5. Organise your ads in a logical way. Ensure the topmost ad is the best one. I’ve seen blogs with a free Project Wonderful ad at the top, a paid $0.25 CMF widget below that, and Adgitize/EC at the bottom. People who get a free ad should not appear above those who pay!
    6. Participate in forums. This gives a much broader range of opinions than in blog comments, as you will find people who don’t already know about your blog if you use forums. Plus, you may find those people checking out your blog afterwards.

    I have hundreds more … these were just the six I chose today :)

    1. To have a truly great blog, you have to care about what you are writing.
    2. Don’t be discouraged from blogging just because you don’t see the results you want right away. Blogging takes time.
    3. Remember that bloggers believe in community – if you go comment on other blogs and interact with bloggers on social media, you will see your community grow.
    4. Know the difference between good (ex. reasons I don’t like Twitter) and bad controversy when using that technique to get attention.
    5. Write for your readers, not for adsense, advertisers, search engines, etc. Only for your readers.
    6. Make sure your articles are unique – don’t rip off others ideas, or plagiarize.

    Here’s my optic on this:

    1. use wordpress platform (not .com) and SE optimize it (a good starting point would be All in one SEO and akismet);

    2. sistematically reference your older posts;

    3. always come back with a feedback after each comment;

    4. don’t be cheap with do-follow links. If the comment is worth your approval is worth a “do-follow” editorial credit;

    5. expand your relationships build on the blog to your favorite social media platforms;

    6. engage in the blogging community and permanently build backlinks – (if you were to ask me…) no matter whether they’re dofollow or nofollow.

    Hope these checklist blogging philosophy meets some common grounds :)

    Cheers,
    Cristian
