Now I have to admit that I’ve heard so many people banging on about Groupon and saying that they can save themselves some money with some of the deals that were on offer, so the other day I decided to check out the site for myself and took a look for some deals in London.
Why London I Hear You Ask!
Well to put it simply, our capital here in the UK is probably one of the most expensive places to visit etc and if I could find some great deals for there, then I could then move on to checking out some local places.
Anyway I set my location to London and it came up with a deal for a “Three Hour Make-Up Course”, hmmm, not exactly what I was expecting but still a good saving none the less!
Being a “newbie” to the Groupon experience it took me a little while to check ou some of the previous deals that the site had to offer in and around London.
So Many Deals To Choose From!
After a little moving around the site and surfing the various options, I had made myself a list of interesting deals to pick from such as discounts for London Zoo, Meals, an hour in a flotation device (which I’ve seen on The Gadget Show, so I like the look of that) and much more.
I’m not sure if I will be using many of these offers, but I will be checking out the deals for other locations to see what’s going on, suffice to say, Groupon will save you money on certain things and to those that want to visit different cities as part of a holiday or even a day out then there are certainly things that can save you money.

Karen, I’ve tinkered with this in my local area a bit. I must say that there isn’t much in the way of good offers for Chattanooga…that is to say unless you need a new doggie do. I’m hoping that smaller markets pick up some better offers and suspect they will as more people use the service and local companies realize how many people they can reach. I think it’s a fantastic idea…it just needs to mature out a little. I hope that happens and is not a victim of dot bomb 2.0.

I’ve used a few Groupons to try out a few new things – a hot stone massage, acupuncture, and something not as exotic… carpet cleaning.
I can see how it can get a bit addicting if you are the curious sort because there are always new things to try, and if you catch the right one it can be a great deal.
I’ve heard though from the small business end (those offering the Groupons) you have to be careful before working on a Groupon deal as some businesses lose a lot of money if people don’t actually become repeat customers.

Groupon sites are very popular nowadays. Companies are after of the fast turnover thru group offerings rather than single mark-up thru their normal rate offer. The good thing about groupon sites is many people can now experience to avail great offers from business establishments because of the affordable pricing. It’s something that many people will surely look forward to.

I always get different kinds of groupon deals. Last week I had a Japanese buffet, I wanted to eat their the week before, but they said it was all full because of the groupon deal.
I go to the movies using groupon deals. But I use it most for going to restaurants.
