Scarlett Tape TV – Red Carpet Premier With Special Guest Spencer Wilding (Ghostrider 2)

It was premier night for a web TV series brought to a packed venue, as the Red Carpet Premier for Scarlett got on its way.  Scarlett is the story of a high school boy, the girl of his dreams and … A Hollywood A-Lister.

Opening the night was Linda Hirst performing a number that she had written and had been used in the web series that has been created and produced by Tape TV.

Linda’s track was nicely performed acoustically to a packed hall at the Rhyl Town Hall, a very nicely produced and written track that did have a lot of heart in it.

Next up, Rachel, a pupil from Rhyl High School who had written several songs for Scarlett. Rachel openly said that she didn’t think the first song was very good, let’s just so she’s wrong.

The first track, though quite short, was very well written and she doesn’t want to put herself down, she has some real song writing talent.

Next she followed on with a cover of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis, she also performed this cover very well. Following on with a Coldplay cover, which she sang extremely well, so much better than the original and her guitar work was nicely done on the performance as well.

Ending with a cover of an Adele track, which she performed in an amazing way, Rachel is very talented and her singing and guitar work is superb, if she decides to follow a career in music then she has what it takes.

Scarlett – A Brief History!

Just before the premier of the 5 episodes started we had the brief history of how Scarlett started back in 2001 in the mind of Thomas Ellis who mentions that one of his influences is Joss Whedon, followed on by usually thanks to everyone getting involved in the series including a very own local lad, Spencer Wilding (@BigSpenWilding).

Scarlett – The 5 Episode Mini Web Series – Review

Ok down to the facts about the series, now there is room for some improvement with the production of the series, but let’ s face it, it’s made on a shoestring budget and with kids from the local school and for all intents and purposes it’s put together very well.

But don’t let the thought of kids making a movie put you off, the series is intriguing and as it moves along it did pull me in, it’s pretty weird series.

But there are those funny moments, that come along, you have to put the amateur acting to one side and watch the series knowing that it’s not a professionally made series, but  a web series.

The story of Ben (Jacob Desmond) , Chloe (Shannon Wotton) and  Scarlett (Abby May Butler) is rather bizarre and as I mentioned earlier there is room for improvement on the production and acting, story wise it’s not a bad idea, but it needs more of a direction to take!

With news from Thomas Ellis, that a second series is on the way, then it certainly has the room to open up in the next 5 episodes of series 2, talking to Thomas after the premier showing of Scarlett his second series is going to be different from the first and he certainly seems to be packed with some ideas on how the character will be moving along. I’ll be keeping my eye out for that one.
