You really have to give some credit to the UK weather, only days after the first day of Spring and the Snow comes along with a winter retaliation and causes mayhem on the roads and streets of the towns and villages that have been hit by the recent snow fall.
Here in North Wales it’s been a mix of snow, rain, high winds and grey skies, which is all bizarre when you see other parts of the country completely white with deep snow.
Just Some Of The Photos Of The Snow Or Not From Around My Area
Met Office forecaster Charles Powell said: “Every type of the worst ingredients are there and it looks pretty bad. There will be heavy snowfall, strong winds and ice.“We expect snow to start falling from 2am on Friday and this could continue falling until midday on Saturday.
“There will be heavy downfalls but it is also very persistent which we expect to cause problem.
“We expect between 5cm and 10cm over low ground in north-east Wales and more over the higher ground, like over Snowdonia. With high winds this could also see snow building up and drifts being formed so we expect disruption.”
Some local roads in my area have been closed due to the risk of the snow after last nights amber snow weather warning.
Although where I am we have what can only be described as a layer of thick frost, more than snow, but then again a few miles towards Chester the snow has come in with a force that has to be seen to be believed.
With any situation when the weather is like this, it’s always wise to remember that if you really don’t need to travel somewhere then don’t stay put and stay safe, but if you do have to travel to work etc. Then drive with complete caution and make sure your car is topped with oil, fuel, water, windscreen wash etc and take provisions with you and warm clothes, blankets, if you do get stranded.
So have you been hit by the snow in the UK? Has it stopped you from going to work or school? Or has it been nothing worth worrying about?
Thank you to everyone who sent me the photos to use in the article, much appreciated.
