As you can see from the heading of this blog post, I’m about to start a little rant!
My rant today is about annoying neighbours! As I type this post all I can hear from my next door neighbour is the constant thump, thump, thump of extremely load music a blatant attempt at noise pollution and it’s really f****** me off, I mean come how bloody load do you need to have music when you’re washing a car!
Ok! So the weather is nice enough to wash the car, but does he need to have the music SO LOUD I CAN’T HEAR MYSELF THINK! Get a bloody iPod and stick the headphones on!
It maybe just me, but I was brought up to respect my neighbours and not have my music so load that half the street can hear it……..
Ok little rant over, I feel a little better now (not much though)

Some people just don’t think other humans are living around them. That’s why I like to live outside the cities where I don’t have to take everybody else into consideration all the time
I don’t mind doing so, but it’s also very nice to be able to just “make noise when you want to”.

I really can’t complain much about my neighbors they are all super peaceful, Im lucky I guess but I have gone through my nightmares in the past like yourself.

I’m glad I’m not, all I like is a bit of peace to relax, sometimes they have weekend of loud music right up until 3am…
Your posting made me smile, thank you. I’ve been miffed every since yesterday when my junk collecting neighbor parked a badly hand rolled painted camper in front of my yard where we sit for hours on our beautiful porch. Now we view this thing from every window and even from the glass door from my living room. Grrrrrrrrrrr. All he does is bring home stuff, mattresses, metal stuff, wood, broken everything and rearranges it once in awhile. We’ve watched it get rained and snowed on and turn to rot and rust now for 2 and a half years. They have two acres, we have one. Hubby planted trees but it takes time waiting for them to grow wide and fill in. Lastnight we bought five more to plant next week. Now I feel hedged in. I could screammmmmmmmm! I have a stress headache and event dreamed about the trash hole neighor lastnight. Lord, help me…….

Man I hate this a lot. I personaly started to put anything in my ears to block the sounds of people when they are noisy and yes sometimes you can have weird neighbours! As for men and their cars, I recall Shania Twain’s song “That Don’t Impress Me Much”

It’s a world wide problem of how people behave, unfortunately. The strange thing is if the situation reversed, you always find them complaning but if you complained, they probably do not care!

You’re definitely not alone there. Most of our neighbors are nice and quiet… well relatively speaking, but we have one family across the street from us that really annoys me. They constantly leave their teenage daughter home alone on holiday weekends and without fail this kid throws a party. She has music blasting until 2 or 3am and the cops ALWAYS show up and often leads to someone getting arrested. She’s had 4 or 5 parties since we moved in a little over a year ago… you’d think the parents would learn to not leave her home alone.

They probably leave her home alone because they are fed up of her themselves and need to get a break from her
You’re probably right, but I can’t help but wonder… why can’t they send her to a friends house… or pawn her off on some family member. Oh well… hasn’t happened in a while. Maybe they’re finally learning after the last time the cops had to go there. This time it was their daughter who was arrested.

The older I get, the more I wonder where basic decency went: I’m not expecting everyone to have perfect, cultivated manners, just some consideration for other people, some sense of shame.
Off-topic, beyond an obnoxious car-washing neighbour: My own 2 cents is that people don’t really know what to do with quiet, or with time alone. They need to be drawing attention to themselves or rambling: even the TV feels like another person in the room. I’m not saying we aren’t solitary or lonely, we can definitely be that way, and many of us are very lonely and willfully so. I am saying that when one doesn’t know what they want, they tend to be inconsiderate of others, as they don’t even know what to do with themselves.

I can so relate and feel your pain. My neighbors are loud, too.
My neighbor hubby had a DUI actually two DUIs. Of course, his wife is a shrink. Once when their kids were little, the shrink was yapping with her friend inside the house while her little ones, plus friends, all about 4-7 in years, wandered onto my yard. My dogs were pleased, especially the larger one, who is a Sheppard and golden mix, and decided to knock over one of the little ones and clean his face. I heard the screams from my office window and raced outside to calm the little bugger.
I kept thinking on my way down the stairs, she’ll be outside soon. She’ll be outside soon, referring to the shrink mother. But she never showed her face. To this day, she doesn’t know about the on the back, face-licking incident and they have a dog!
