Now we may all know that blogging can be very time-consuming, what with reading blogs, commenting and writing our own posts, but how can we give everything an equal share of our time?
I go to work during the day and I have to admit that when travelling from one job to another I do Tweet with my Twitter @BlazingMinds and if a blog idea springs to mind I either jot it down or dictate it on my phone for later.
But is there a good way of spreading our time in to the right amount to give everything a chance of getting something done during the day.
Do you spend more time blogging, working or putting your feet up, if your married does your other half give you a set amount of time that you have on “that bloody computer” each night, so you cram in as much as you can before it’s family time?
So putting it simply, how do you fit everything in during the day, do you even get chance to do everything that you want to do?
I personally spilt my day up. Work during the day, grab a few minutes here and there to catch up on my blogging, put my feet up for a bit with a Cappuccino and they maybe tweet a little, before placing my head on a soft cosy pillow to refuel for the following day

Great topic! The last two weeks I’ve had a better balance with blogging. I’m in the military and married with kids so I don’t always have the time or energy that I would like to GTD with my blog. You read my mind on this topic though.

I haven’t figured out how to achieve a balance between husband, work, and blog yet. I just started a job this week after being unemployed for a while. At night, I’m zonked and have trouble speaking. Writing a blog post seems like a daunting task.
I’m thinking of either writing while watching TV or getting up earlier in the a.m. to write before work. All I know. I need my writing fix or otherwise I get cranky.

For me it is definitely more work than play. The thing is that I enjoy work so much that it is kind of like play for me. It is as addictive as a really good video game. I have achieved the balance that I have wanted, which is more work and less play. I might be sick, but that is really what I enjoy doing the most.

If a job is enjoyable it will feel like play, there is nothing worse than been in a job that you just can’t stand
I think it’s important to set aside time for every segment of your life. Blogging for me is done at the end of the day when I have wrapped up everything I needed to do during the day is done from kids to bills to the lawn. Then again I don’t have a commercial blog, if I did it would probably be one of the first things I did each day.

Hi Mark, so you could class yourself as a chilln’ out blogger, one that sits down at the end of the day to relax on a blog post

I try hard to get a good balance because I find that if I’m enjoying something, I get really engrossed in it, and before I know it, half a day has passed.
I work a full time job – that’s usually 40 hrs/wk. I cycle to work, so I get some time then to think about posts etc. I’ve also had some great ideas, and like yourself it goes straight into the memo pad on my phone. I also occasionally check things whilst I’m at work – I find I work in bursts, then take a rest, so it works nicely.

Karen pretty much. I actually do some of my best thinking, the piece I wrote about the laundry cups has been bugging me for ages. Talk about big business finding a way to serendipitously stick it to the rest of us.

It is never easy to balance all the responsibilities of life. Obviously work and family are paramount, but what if blogging is a big part of your work? My biggest problem is figuring out when I can bring work home or blog at home and still maintain my personal life. I think most people struggle with this dilemma.

My blogging time is usually when I’m done with real life tasks during the day. When I’m on breaks, I just grab my iPhone and retweet from there posts I like

Sometimes I feel like such a lame.
I have my days broken down to 15, 30, and 45 minute increments. From 4:45 am to 09:00 pm …. oh no, and now I’m up too late! Gotta go, bye.

Not having enough hours in a day is definitely something I’m familiar with. Having a wife and a 3month old infant at home requires aN etreme amount of time management on my end it I want to get aNything done…thank God for smart phones, Google reader and flip camcorders.
Staying organized and using the commute to work to shoot video has been a life saver everyday I look for ways to increase productivity…I think it’s something we all struggle with. You just have to be creative.

Dividing the day up is tough. What really throws things out of whack for me is the client that is in town and needs to see properties. Usually on short notice. Fortunately for me, my husband and daughter do our blogging, so I can put that part of the business in their hands.

Many times the day seems to short. I feel like I just woke up and is already dark outside. The thing is that you have to know how to split your time to do all your tasks. It is a little hard at the beginning but eventually you will learn how to do it
Yes, making time for everything from your social life to work and blogging on a daily basis can be very tricky. I guess it’s up to each and every one to see over their time and sometimes something might have to go. If you blog professionally than your social life might be damaged as blogging is essential. If it is more personal blogging, you may post when you sincerely have a few minutes to spare!
