It was Laughter all the way on Friday night at Nant Hall in Prestatyn as a selection of stand-up artists took over from 9 o’clock to bring us to tears of laughter.
Featuring Phoenix Nights‘ Archie Kelly plus Dom Carroll, El Purnell and Ray Kane
Laughter @ Nant Hall
It was quite a small venue seating around 40 people to see comedians performing their jokes and routines for the next few hours.
Introduced by Ray Kane, starting with a bit of audience participation to warm up the audience for the rest of the night. Questioning the audience and cracking jokes from their occupations etc.

One guy came to the front who said he was a palmist, reading Ray’s palm, with Ray saying that he had an incident in a tent as a boy scout, saying what happens in a tent stays in the tent!
To be honest I think this section with the guy from the audience did drag on for a little to long and it was a little to serious for a comedy night.
Act 1: Dom Carroll

A very rude, but extremely fun. Dom is a comedian that certainly had the audience laughing, yes folks even me.
Very sexual jokes and some brilliant one-liners, classic joke about spider-man on perpetual loop on a TV, he was climbing the walls after, also spider-man can climb walls but can’t get out of the bath, classic!
There isn’t really any subject that Dom won’t work in his routine, but he certainly has the place laughing out dry loud.
Act 2: El Purnell

From Equadore! All El’s act is in foreign with the odd bit of English thrown in to make the act unique and extremely funny, the audience were in fits of laughter with El’s performance.
An excellent moment when he pulled up a member of the audience to become a “powerpoint” and compare Equadore to Liverpool and the footballers with Brazilians, hysterical.
El Purnell had a great way of working the audience and his linguistic style of comedy was brilliant and a refreshing change, so much fun to watch and listen to.
Act 3: Archie Kelly

If you’ve seen Phoenix Nights then you’ll know Archie, he’s your typical stand up comic that brings current affairs in to his act with a wonderful style.
Archie’s act included Prince Harry, the Chilean miners, the Manchester riots and other news which though some could be classed as taboo, Archie makes them something to laugh about and not take life to seriously.
Overall Thoughts For Laughter @ Nant Hall
This has to be one of the funniest shows I’ve been to in years all the comics performed extremely well for the size of the venue, Nant Hall is a great local place to show off comedy talent with some great facilities for guests and performers, when Laughter @ Nant Hall comes around again then get yourselves there and let those chuckle muscles have a damn good work out
