Now to be honest, I damn well that I have a God awful Broadband Speed and I really do wish that BT could improve it my way. But moaning aside, I’ll get on with post.

If you are a fan of the @TheGadgetShow you will know that they have tried to champion the removal of the “up to” wording that BroadBand supplies use on their adverts etc, they’ve even put a page together with the contact details for all the major ISPs – as well as for OFCOM and the Advertising Standards Authority. It could be time you let you’re ISP know how you feel about the speed you were advertised and the speed you’re actually getting.

So I tried out the BroadBand Speed test that is on The Gadget Show website and wasn’t really surprised by the results which I posted to twitter via the website, as you can see the broadband download speed and broadband upload speed are awful:

Broadband Speed Test Result - 0.68 Mbps (down); 0.37 Mbps (up) (via @thinkbroadband @thegadgetshow)

So lets all join in the cause for us to try to get the speeds that we deserve and are rightfully paying for by join in with the The Gadget Show and showing these BroadBand ISPs that we are not going to stand for it much longer.

So there you are with your shiny new broadband and your service provider has promised the bees knees for a broadband connection, say that you can get an 8Mb connection, but can you?

Majority of the time you’ll find that you are getting no where near that sort of speed and you are getting something far more inferior.

So here is a handy little Broadband Speed Test for you to find out what you are actually paying for, you may be surprised in what you results you get, you may think your getting an amazingly fast Broadband speed, when in matter of fact you could be getting half the speed or even worse!

So how did you do, did you get what your Broadband supplier promised or are you worse?
