It certainly seems that my blog is getting some interesting CDs and downloads of some music lately and this latest addition to land in my mail box is from 18-year-old Oxford-based singer-songwriter Adam Barnes.

Adam Barnes: Blisters EPAdam has a wonderful voice and one which flows wonderfully with the acoustic instruments that accompany him on this six track EP. This release has a wonderful overtone of folk-pop and for anyone that is looking for something that has such a wonderful collection of well written lyrics and well produced music, then you can’t really go wrong.

I do have a range of musical tastes, but, since doing some of these music reviews here on Blazing Minds, I have discovered some genres that I may not have listened to before and this EP would probably have been one, or maybe not ;)

This has been one of those music reviews where I’ve enjoyed every single track on the Blisters EP, right the first track “Old Shoes” through “Come Undone” and then the up-tempo “If I Was A Lonely Man” slowing down for “We Can Only Sleep“, then a change for “Procession” and finally finishing off the EP with the track “Lighthouse“.

The Blisters EP is very well put together and is very enjoyable to listen to, it is certainly one of those EPs that I could listen to over and over again, it’s quite inspiring to know that in this musical world of computer composed music that there is still room for wonderfully written music that has heart to it and this is one of those releases. I’ve really enjoyed listening to Adam Barnes for this music review and I think you may enjoy it as well.

You can check out Adam Barnes on his official website as well as on Twitter @mradambarnes, Facebook, MySpace and Tumblr. Also you can get your hands on the Blisters EP from BandCamp and iTunes.

Infected MushroomIt’s been two years since the mighty Infected Mushroom released an album and the wait has certainly been worth it, the latest album The Legend of the Black Shawarma is an truly awe inspiring album and certainly back on form for the Israeli psychedelic trance and electronic music duo.

It’s hard to think that this is the seventh studio album from these guys and they certainly aren’t showing a drop in their standards, The Legend of the Black Shawarma had me hooked right from the very first track.

Now I must admit that I have been a fan of Inner Surge for many years and I thought it was just about time that I actually got of my proverbial backside and get the much acclaimed album Signals Screaming, so I did! And here’s my humble CD Review.

Originally released back in 2007 the album is just pure energy from the Canadian rock/metal band, with the opening track getting you quite unprepared for the blast of vocals that the album will bring to you, more of a thrash metal on some tracks, but with a mixture of the metal genre put in it’s deserved place.

These guys are just awesome and fans of groups such as Rage Against the Machine and Tool will love this album, tracks go from strength to strength and then you get the track “Wolves” which calms everything down, outstanding.

Streaming the tracks on the internet, just don’t do this album any justice you need to either download the album or get it on CD and play it LOUD, very LOUD and appreciate the power and the effort that Inner Surge have gone in to to produce not only an enjoyable album but one which you want to listen to over and over again!

9.5/10 Awseome ;)

For more albums from Inner Surge check out CDBaby and for information on the band visit the official Inner Surge website.
