going-greenOk it’s that time again for the Saturday Six and this week I’ve gone green, not like the Hulk, but green as in the environment. So without any further ado here’s this weeks six:

  1. Do you recycle?
  2. Have you fitted any energy saving light bulbs?
  3. If you don’t have far to go, do you walk or still use your car?
  4. Have you turned down your thermostats by one degree?
  5. Do you leave your TV etc on standby or turn it off at the wall?
  6. Do you wash your clothes on a 30 setting or higher?

As usual you can either answer the questions here or copy the questions on to your blog with a link back here (and leave a link in the comments).

A few weeks ago we received some free e-on energy light bulbs in the post and in the box was a card for a free Desktop Computer Intelliplug, so without further a do, I filled in the card and posted it back, it was free after all.

Yesterday it arrived in the post, so I unpacked it and plugged it in!

You plug your computer in to the top (master socket) and your peripherals into the remaining sockets, you can even plug in extension leads for your devices, after turning it on at the all my printer, modem, external hard drive, monitor etc had no power going to them whatsoever, but, five seconds after turning on my computer, all the devices plugged in to the extension lead powered up and everything ran smoothly.

Now this is great, but even better is when you power down your computer after a few seconds all the devices power down and are switched off, great, now I can go out leave the computer on running a virus scan and then when the scan is complete and the computer powers down and turns off, so does everything else and I don’t have to wait for the computer to power down and then turn everything off manually it’s all done for me, brilliant.

I highly recommend one of these devices for everyone, check out the OneClick website for more energy saving devices..
