It seems that we are going to be getting some great movies coming to our local cinemas soon and being a big fan of seeing films on a big screen in 7.1 surround sound and of the latest innovation in 3D, I thought I would bring you 5 upcoming movies that I can’t wait to see.
So lets get on with the list in no particular order:

If you have read Blazing Minds for a while you may have seen the review I did some time back for Final Destination 4, last night I got to see the latest movie in the franchise and in glorious eye-popping 3D, those who’ve seen it will know what I mean
So What’s Going On In Final Destination 5?
Final Destination 5 like the other ones in the serious starts off with everything going well and then going extremely bad with nearly everyone being killed, then quickly jumping back to show us that it’s all the premonition of one person.
This time it’s the turn of bus full of people on a suspension bridge which collapses and only a few get off before the bridge crashes down.
Then we know what happens next, each one is slowly hunted down by death and ticked of the list in some gruesome way or another.

Humans use all our senses to perceive the world around us.
As newborns, it is touch, smell, and sound that provide the signals we need. Parents themselves are hard-wired to react to the cries of their child; a baby in distress is a powerful sound that makes adults run – in one direction or the other. Our ancestors relied on sound for important signals that were crucial to survival, and our emotional response to different types of sound explains the roots of language development.
So it should come as no surprise that sound plays a huge role in the emotional effectiveness of visual entertainment, even though most people don’t realise how they are being influenced. Next time you watch a movie or TV show, try to keep your ears open as well as your eyes. It isn’t always as obvious as the dramatic, emotional soundtracks to important scenes. Pick out the little motifs used to define the characters and places. Listen out for sound bridges between scenes that help you understand what you are meant to be feeling.

The actors of Scifi often attain cult status. Sometimes it’s hard for anyone to think of these actors as anyone other than the famous scifi character they played. Here we will take a look at just a few of our favorite scifi legends.
The most obvious example would be Spock from the original Star Trek played by Leonard Nimoy.

Spock’s mixed human-Vulcan heritage gave him those infamous pointy ears. Now it’s hard to imagine Mr. Nimoy without them. Sure he has had over 50 bit parts in other television shows and movies, and is a director, musician and photographer. But mostly we remember and love him the most as the cool headed Vulcan on Star Trek.

The entertainment wires have recently been buzzing with impressions of Daniel Radcliffe’s attempts to reinvent himself on Broadway in the 50th anniversary revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. And whilst reception of Radcliffe’s first musical role has been mixed to positive, he’s no stranger to reinvention on the stage after a spell in Equus in 2007 through 2008.
Reinventing yourself after being typecast for a decade is clearly not an easy task. By the time the second part of The Deathly Hallows is released, Daniel Radcliffe will have been Harry Potter in more films than either Sean Connery or Roger Moore were James Bond and will have also portrayed the character for more years than any one actor portrayed Doctor Who. But unlike these franchises, the possibility for reinvention of the role seems minimal: No matter what roles Daniel Radcliffe has as his career progresses, Harry Potter will probably ‘be’ Daniel Radcliffe for as long as the character is remembered.
He’s not the first to face up to the reinvention problem, but his managed approach throughout his career so far almost seems to suggest that he’s all too aware of how it has gone for other blockbuster stars. So how has reinvention gone in the past? Well, let’s take a look-see…

The Raspberry awards or “Razzies” as they are better known as celebrate the worst films over the past year and this year is no different! Sometimes it is safe to say that actors need to be told that not every movie they make is film gold and instead of deserving a place on the shelf it barely deserves a place in the 99c section of the bargain bin!
The Highlight Of 2010 Awards

Before we look at the 2011 awards lets first take a look at the highlight of the 2010 awards. This of course was Sandra Bullock accepting the award for worst actress for All About Steve. Very rarely will you find that an actor ever turns up to this awards ceremony and this is because most of them are far too “high and mighty” to acknowledge that they have made a movie that sucks!

While listening to the radio in work today, I was interested to hear a discussion on how we could be having the movies released in the cinema and at the same time available to stream direct to our computers or internet ready TVs at the same time, this got me thinking
I love going to the cinema and taking in the atmosphere of people sitting in rows of seats waiting in anticipation for the film to start on a huge screen, even better when in 3D and most cinemas these days are going digital anyway, giving us a much better movie experience that several years ago.
But will this all change if the option to stream a film in our own homes on the day it is released in the cinema?
Gone will be the excitement of queuing up for your tickets, grabbing that over priced box of popcorn and taking your seat next to someone who seems to have arms like an octopus.
Personally for me, I love the cinema and the experience will fall by the wayside, with the way we have internet connections in the UK at the moment, there could be an enjoyment squashing moment, when you’re just getting into the film and you get problems with the stream, specially in HD, some of us still have problems just streaming videos from YouTube.
But is this the way that our movie experiences are going? Will w be seeing those wonderful cinemas closing up and becoming yet another bargain shop!
I can’t really see this all happening that quickly, but, with the way that technology goes in leaps and bounds it could be closer than we think.
So what do you think, will paying for a service to stream movies direct to your home on the day they have been released destroy cinema going as we know it? Or, will we keep going to the cinema for the social event that it is?
