Now I always like to try something different and recently I had an email about a website that allows you to set up a FREE account and then upload your images to create your own galleries, so how could I resist giving this a spin
GalleryHosted is really easy to use, after signing up for a free account, you can simply upload your multiple pictures via their website, once you have uploaded your pictures, you can then display them on your website, blog or forum via the handy codes that you are given for each picture.
What appeals to me is that it’s all for free and you get an unlimited storage and lifetime storage. Ideal for those of us who may want to say a bit of bandwidth on our own websites and link to the images from another place.
I uploaded several pictures and they uploaded to my “gallery” in no time, then it was just a case of grabbing the code that is listed with the picture to add it to my blog.
Ok there are other sites out there that offer the same sort of things, but not all of them are free and having the option for the site to be free does help our pockets in this day and age.
One thing you have to remember with GalleyHosted is that your pictures are free to everyone, they are not private, an option which you can do with Flickr, so anything you upload is available to the public domain, so remember that before you start uploading anything.
But at the end of the day, this is a really useful site for storage and pulling your images onto your blog, website, MySpace page etc. So if you are running a tad short of hosting space or even want to cut your bandwidth down a bit, then this is certainly a place you could look into
